Anyone who knows me well knows how much I love spending my days off reading in coffee shops. Well, February 11th 2018 I had intended on going to one of my favorite coffee shops, but couldn’t find a single parking spot. I gave up and decided to try another spot, I drove around the block and happened upon a coffee shop I had never seen or been to before. I decided to try it and after walking in ended up sitting next to this cute guy. We made some comments back and forth until my friends arrived and then sat next to each other for the next few hours. As I headed out I was shocked when this guy walked all the way out to my car in the cold and the rain to let me know he didn’t want to let the chance to get to know me more go by without asking for my name and number. I said “sure why not” and next thing he called me that same night and we talked on the phone for almost two hours, and then again the next night, and went on our first date two days later…
I learned quickly that Richey is one of the most servant-hearted, intelligent, funny, thoughtful, adventurous, spontaneous, and loving people I have ever met. He challenges me to dream bigger, pray longer, and love deeper every day. I knew I loved Richey was the moment I saw him around his entire family. I knew he was amazing and served me so well, but I realized it was built into his character when I saw him literally serve his family to the point where he made sure each of them had their food before he even touched his own. That’s just who Richey is, he puts the needs of others before his own and inspires others to do the same. I can’t imagine loving him any more than I do today, but I’m thankful and so excited that I get to love him more each day for the rest of our lives.
