How we met

Our story begins on a dating app called "Dil Mil." Vijay was living in Dallas, TX and Ravi was in San Francisco, CA. We connected on a discussion about Game of Thrones via chat, but immediately found out that there might be something there. So Vijay made the bold move and asked to get Ravi's number on the same day by asking for it while driving to a friend's birthday and the conversation continued all the way to the event. From there, we face-timed that evening - just to make sure that we were the people in the pictures - because who want's to get catfished on a dating app?

The Long Distance Relationship

Every day the conversations continued over phone calls, texts, and FaceTimes. 1 month later, Vijay flew out to San Francisco and took Ravi on their first date, which was a chocolate tasting cruise around the Golden Gate Bridge. For 9 months, we continued getting to know each other better and traveled back and forth between SF and Dallas.  We also got to explore other cities such as Chicago, San Antonio, Austin, and Las Vegas. After all of these adventures and getting to know her parents/family, Vijay was 100% sure that Ravi was the one. So after 10 months, Vijay called Ravi's parents to ask for their permission to move forward for a proposal.

The Proposal

The original plan was to go to Orange County to hang out with Ravi's family for the weekend, but after asking for her parent's permission Vijay instead made a trip to San Francisco on July 20, 2019 for the weekend. After much planning and with the help of her sister, Gagan, we went to the Palace of Fine Arts on that cold day and Vijay asked Ravi to be his queen.

The Roka

On September 7th, we had our official Roka (family engagement), where Ravi's side of the family came down from Pittsburgh, California, and Canada  to Chicago to meet the Rajput family. We celebrated at Lazzat Banquet Hall and danced the night away. We'd like to thank the Rajput family for organizing the event.
