Randy and Allison
July 24, 2021
Randy and Allison met for the first time in October 2016 when Allison started at Abbott. Randy worked for her for 5 weeks before he left the company as part of an outsourcing. Allison thought Randy was very nice welcoming her, but Randy has now admitted he was smitten from day one. Randy was planning to relocate to Arizona and they lost touch.
They met again when Randy attended a retirement lunch for Allison's admin in January 2017. They sat across from one another and talked about Randy's plans to move...
And then they met a third time in April 2017. Randy was on site for an interview with Abbvie. Allison, knowing he was looking for work and needing some work done at her house, asked if he was doing side jobs...
Randy came over in May 2017 to relocate the kitchen garbage disposal and as they say it, he's never left.
Randy knew that Allison was the perfect woman for him. Even to the point of asking her Dad for his permission Thanksgiving 2018.
Randy and Lisa Mehta worked together to get a jeweler to help them design the perfect engagement ring for Allison. The second jeweler they went to had the same vision as Randy. Once the ring was ordered, Randy had to ask Allison's "other parents", Don and Joan Lennie (Lisa's parents).
Finally the time had come. Allison thought they were going to Raj and Lisa's to celebrate Randy's birthday.
Allison thought she was planning the dinner and working with the kids on decorating his birthday cake.
Allison thought they were all singing happy birthday to Randy and the kids were bringing the cake to her to have her get a close up in the video.
Allison thought wrong...
Randy planned the whole thing with the Mehta's, right down to the "Birthday" cake. By the time Allison realized what was happening, Randy was down on one knee with the ring in his hand. Everyone went inside where the kids had decorated the kitchen. There was champagne for toasting, flowers from Ian's butterfly garden, and a commemorative cross stitch from Ella. To end the perfect evening, Neil Mehta performed the song he wrote for the happy couple.
RECOMMENDED RESTAURANTS
A quick Google search will list all the Key Largo restaurants.
If you like seafood, the top recommendation is Key Largo Fisheries; mainly because it is a real, working fish processing plant with a restaurant attached. It is not fancy but serves the absolute freshest seafood. - https://www.keylargofisheries.com/cafe/If you know Randy and Allison, you know they love finding restaurants all over the country that have been featured on "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives". Part cafe, part local market, this Key Largo restaurant offers fresh seafood for dining in and takeout. Both Bobby Flay and Guy Fieri are fans of the Matecumbe. This house specialty features locally caught fish that’s topped with a salsa made from lemon, tomatoes, onions and capers, then quickly baked in a searing-hot convection oven. This simple approach results in a “delicate, tender” dish, Guy says. Special Dishes: Matecumbe, Smoked Fish Dip, Key Lime Pie. Check out The Fish House - https://fishhouse.com/
A great ice cream and sandwich shop is directly across the street from the entrance to the Key Largo Lighthouse venue.
