Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a Dress Code for each event?
Mehendi Night: For Indian attire, we suggest wearing salwar suits, sharara/palazzo sets, or an anarkali. For non-Indian attire, we suggest wearing maxi dresses or a long tunic for women, or pants and a nice shirt for women. Bright, vibrant colors such as pink, green, orange, and yellow are suggested for this event.
Pithi (Haldi) and Ganesh Puja: For Indian attire, we suggest wearing salwar suits, sharara/palazzo sets, or an anarkali. For non-Indian attire, we suggest maxi dresses for women or pants and a nice shirt for men. Yellow is the primary color for this event.
Sangeet: This event will largely be focused on dance performances from the bride and groom's wedding parties. For Indian attire, lehengas and anarkalis are suggested for women and kurtas are suggested for men. For non-Indian attire, flowy maxi dresses are suggested for women and pants and a nice shirt are suggested for men. Colors for this event are similar to the Mehendi, including bold colors such as pink, green, purple, blue, and orange.
Wedding Ceremony: For Indian attire, we suggest wearing lehengas or saris. For non-Indian attire, you may wear anything you would typically wear to a traditional American wedding (semi-formal dresses for women, suits for men), while also avoiding colors such as black or white (including ivory, cream, beige, white).
Reception: For Indian attire, we suggest wearing lehengas, saris, or gowns with darker color tones (think evening wear). For, non-Indian attire, cocktail dresses can also be worn to this event. Suits are suggested for men for this event. Note that the dancefloor will be open at this event, so we encourage wearing something that is comfortable to dance in.
