"WHAT WE GONNA DO RIGHT HERE IS GO BACK....WAY BACK...BACK INTO TIME"
Although, we first met in Breaburn Elementary School we really became friends in Jane Long Middle School. We were both in the PRE-IB advanced classes. Our classes were together for the different subjects all throughout six and seventh grade. We weren't extremely close as I, Priscilla, was always at the front with a "D" last name and Rodolfo was in the back end of the alphabet order with "R." I must also add that I was smarter and have the yearbook pictures to prove I was "all A's all year long" and Rodolfo was not. Ha!
We shared many memories together at young age. I remember always trying to be nice and complementing his five-star binder protector he would carry and helping ease some teasing for his haircut selections. He was sweet and nice and I loved his laugh. He was funny, smart but shy with girls. At the end of 6th grade he signed my yearbook "stay cool"....that's it. I believe someone else tried to help him out and wrote in " & nice" after it. Let's just agree that he was not great at the flirting lingo yet. hahaha! Nevertheless we met many years ago and it is absolutely crazy the many turns the world makes and where you end up at the end.

"YOU MAKE ME WANNA....."
We lost touch after middle school. I went to Sharpstown then Texas A&M. Rodolfo went to Lee then the University of Houston. Years passed and a lot happened in both of our lives. Social Media reconnected us years after I graduated.
Through Facebook our middle school alumni was going to have an unofficial reunion. I opted to not go but was Facebook friends with some that did go. One of those persons was, Alejandra. She had always been close to Rodolfo as they both attended Lee High School. At the reunion as he and she talked she said "Hey, have you talked to Priscilla?" She insisted that he find me on FB and that he talk to me because I was just as crazy as him, always talking about sports. (Gee thanks Ale -_- jaja ) Right there and there he looked me up and we became FB friends. We constantly talked back and forth in posts about Astros, Rockets, and everything sports.
In a time of need, when I was unable to watch my faithful Aggie's football game, we exchanged numbers. I asked him to please send me text updates and play by play of the game! He did so and from then on we talked what seemed like night and day. I opened up about my life since we left middle school and Andres. He talked about his life journey and Donnie. We had so many things that we shared in common and yet some things we didn't, like our music genre preferences. jaja. We would talk about all of the old middle school times and how funny it was that although we stopped talking for a lot of years it seemed we didn't miss a beat and had been best of friends all along. After a few movie dates and Rockets' games we were official. We had fallen in love.

I THOUGHT I TOLD WE WON'T STOP...I THOUGHT I TOLD YOU WE WON'T STOP
Fast forward to December 2018. We have been dating for 6 years. It is holiday season and we have our typical busy schedules. End of the year workload, Christmas shopping, family gatherings, company functions.
Wednesday December 5th evening I begin to get ready because Rodolfo has a company holiday function we are attending in the evening. Andres and I get dressed up since it is the first work function we will attend with him. We rush out and drive to Hotel Derek in the Galleria. It is 6:30, we valet go inside the lobby and make our way down the hallway to their event rooms. We come upon the door and see the sign for Sogeti company function 4-8 pm. I am immediately shocked and nervous. Are we really this late? Should we not even open the doors and walk in? As I begin to say something to Rodolfo, he swings the doors open. Immediately I am further confused because as soon as the doors open a LIVE mariachi band begins to play.
I walk into the room and my smile is from ear to ear. All Mexicans tend to have that joyful and proudful reaction to the sound of mariachi playing. My mind then goes from "omg we are so late" to "Sogeti seems like an awesome company, why can't Datavox (where I work) have mariachis at our Christmas parties?" Rodolfo is just standing next to me smiling and staring at me. I start to look around to try to figure out where do we go to now surely we are not going to just stand in front of the mariachi all night. I see a man approach us and start continuously taking pictures. I am so confused I have no idea what is happening now and then I realize the mariachi and the photographer are the only ones in the room. There's petals and lighted heart bags leading down to the chirstmas tree and a table with champagne. Picture frames in the cocktail tables surrounding the walkway are collages of all of our time together. Each with a theme of something special to us. It still did not make sense to me, "what is happening?!" Then he got down on one knee and proposed. Andres hugged us and I said....YES! We toasted and listened to the mariachi play.
He completely got me. I had no idea that everything was a pretend company function. He elaborately made fake emails to show me and tell me about the function. I was completely and utterly amazed at how well he thought about all the details. Made all the picture collages and picked all the songs the mariachi played. And that is how he proposed.....and that's why we are soon going to have this awesome wedding!
