A CLOUDY NIGHT IN MORRISTOWN
How we met

After matching on the dating app, Hinge, Priam and Mark were trying to meet after exchanging a few texts. Mark wanted to meet during the Super Bowl, but Priam was too busy hanging with the most important man in her life, Bam Bam the Bichon Frise. Mark then high tailed it to Ecuador to get some R&R. Unfortunately, he got burned badly and couldn't be social for a couple weeks.
Finally, on March 4, 2020, they agreed to meet at Stirling Tavern in Morristown for a drink. Mark was incredibly nervous as he got there early, not realizing live music was making the bar super loud and the fact that there was only one available seat in the bar area. But when Priam arrived, those worries went away. Priam & Mark talked about everything but work which was a pleasant change from the usual "first date interview." Priam and Mark were enjoying the conversation, but he was making weird faces. While Priam now knows that he tends to do this normally, the beer he was drinking did not taste good. After Priam suggested they get another drink, Mark inexplicably ordered the same beer for himself, causing him to chug it as quickly as possible. Unbeknownst to Priam, Mark was having an amazing time with her and couldn't wait to set up a second date.

As they left the bar, Priam let Mark know that she would love to hang out again, and Mark agreed. Their second date was less than a week later, and their third date happened one day after. Due to the pandemic, Priam and Mark began to see each other daily after work, and the rest is history.

Proposal
COORDINATED FROM 6,000 MILES AWAY

When Mark was halfway through his Middle East deployment, he knew he was ready to propose to Priam as soon as he got back home. After a multitude of WhatsApp and phone calls with Google Voice, Mark had Labor Day Weekend in his sights.

Priam knew the proposal was coming, especially after looking at diamonds together. However, Mark knew he had to try to throw her off. Thanks to Priam's family and closest friends, Mark was able to do so. Surprisingly, Priam's best friends, cousins, parents, and siblings were all super busy on September 4.

Mark set up a professional picnic at Liberty State Park, overlooking Lower Manhattan. Mark "accidentally" told Priam that he got the picnic on a Groupon, much to her disappointment.

With nobody else free, Priam and Mark decided to take an Uber to Liberty State Park despite having two functioning cars available. Once Priam saw the picnic, she figured a proposal was either imminent or Mark was going to have to somehow top this.

As Priam and Mark enjoyed some charcuterie and mini sandwiches, a singer approached the two, asking if she could practice singing to them. She began singing a song special to both Priam and Mark, slowly leading into "Marry Me" by Train. Mark asked Priam to stand up together until he got on one knee after, asking her to marry him.

All the while, Kiran and Dhruv were watching Mark, as some of Mark's best friends, Steve and his wife Manishka, and Roy were taking pictures and recording the entire event, including setting up microphones on the picnic table.

But that wasn't the only surprise for Priam. As soon as the two returned to Priam's apartment in Union, NJ, her closest family and her cousins came from all over the country to see her and celebrate the engagement.
For those who couldn't come, Priam & Mark can't wait to celebrate with you at our wedding in Punta Cana!
