Significance

Mehendi, otherwise known as henna, is a paste associated with positive spirits and good luck. Indian Wedding tradition calls for a Mehendi ceremony to be held the day before the wedding as a way of wishing the bride good health and prosperity as she makes her journey on to marriage.

Significance

Among the many pre-wedding events that occur prior to the North Indian wedding ceremonies, the Sangeet is where the party begins. The word 'Sangeet' translates from Sanskrit to ‘sung together’, and is also used to describe a celebratory event during an Indian wedding.
This musical night is a celebration of the union of not only the couple but the bonding of both families.

This celebration includes dances performed by relatives and friends of the Bride and Groom, songs by the elder female members of the family sung in unison with the bride as the focal point, and an open dance floor to commemorate the festivities for the following days.

Significance

Guru’s blessings’ will entail the Sikh ceremony that involves prayers recited from the Guru Granth Sahib to bless the couple. Everyone is seated on the ground for the entirety of the ceremony, so you want to be comfortable and be prepared to sit for a long time.

Significance

The 7 Pheras or the Saptapadi is the true essence of a Vedic wedding. Only when the bride and the groom take the 7 vows keeping the holy pyre as the witness, they are called as married. The bride and the groom hold their hands and take seven rounds around the Agni and promise to be with each other for eternity.

Schedule

Music, dancing, and dinner will follow the Pheras as friends and family receive the newlyweds as a married couple.
