Initially, she was a hostess and I was a server... I really can’t remember what it was that led to us hanging out the first time.. I believe it was because of a boy she was interested in and I agreed to play hitch. Which.. I succeeded in doing so since she’s currently set to take his last name!
Whatever the reason for our initial hang out - safe to say, we were inseparable since that day! Our days consisted of : plenty of Chili’s doubles - which led to plenty of Panera lunch dates - plenty of sleep overs - and private rap sessions where we would replay songs over and over again until we could rap certain parts from beginning to end with out mistake haha!!
I have never met anyone so much like me, or had a friend I could tell anything to - without being afraid of their response or judgement! Even if we haven’t spoke in awhile, I know I can call her to unload everything I may have been busting at the seams to get out to someone!!
Kaitlin has been present in almost every difficult life experience I have had, so I’m more than grateful to have her with me for one of the happiest days of my life!!
I met Cacey at a restaurant I worked at in Baltimore, called The Rowhouse Grille. Since it was a small Mom and Pop type place our full staff amounted to maybe 20 people total. I remember Cacey was the one to train me and she was just so bubbly and energetic!
We hit it off pretty quickly, and I don’t think it was due to slim pickings of employees loll. We actually made plans outside of work, took many of beach trips, spent family holiday dinners together, took a daycation to NY with Kaitlin Lacy, and equally sucked through multiple seasons of beach volleyball.
When I made the decision to move back to KC, before meeting Teddy she was one of the hardest people to say bye to. She had become one of my closest friends at the time. Even though distance, time, and busy lives kind of caused a rift in the closeness of our relationship - Cacey will always be one of my dearest friends!! Everyone needs a friend like Cacey in their life, she is honestly one of the most honest and caring people I’ve ever met in my life!
I’m even lucky enough for her to share the month of June with me, since she’s (finally) marrying Zach the week before she stands next to me in my wedding!
I knew long before we became friends she was my spirit animal...
I always knew if Whitley was part of the plan- we were guaranteed to have a good time!! So you can imagine how upset I was when I found out she couldn’t make it to the Bachelorette party! My turn up partner is expecting her 2nd baby, so I guess this is an acceptable reason to reschedule our celebration!
Before she moved back to OK with her fam bam, girls nights at Whitely’s house were some of my favorite, we would always have a good time filled with laughing hard enough to make your stomach hurt!!
Since covid, limited traveling, and everyday life -like building our families- it has been quite awhile since I’ve seen this beaut!
Here’s a fun fact : Kaetlyn and I actually went to Whitely’s wedding together - back in our R&B days, back before any of us became Mama’s!! (Well that weekend is when Kaetlyn found out she would be a Mama!)
Since it’s been long overdue I am so very excited to get to see her again, and to spend this day with her!
I had the pleasure of meeting Miss Mackie at Sullivan’s steakhouse! I only worked at Sullivan’s while I was preggo, but like Rachel, I was able to build a friendship with her even without the alcohol or late night after shift excursions (this is where most restaurant relationships start fyi).
She is definitely one of the kindest people I’ve ever met and has one of the biggest hearts! I have always envied Mackie’s confidence - which I know I’m not the only one - her confidence must radiate because we can’t go out one single night without her being stopped or her presence recognized!
I’m ready for her to shine next to me on this big day!
Rachel is another one of those rare gems! She was a bartender at Sullivan’s steakhouse when I was the preggo server. Once we started to get to know reach other we found out we had crossed paths much more than we realized - including a large group of mutual friends.
Once I was able to drink and partake in adulting activities again, we finally got to hang out - outside of work - at our planned girls nights and later to celebrate her dirty 30 - I mean 21st - in style!
Rachel is one of the sweetest people but with a tough shell.. what I mean by that is.. well in short, she don’t take no s***! I don’t want to say you have to prove worthy to be her friend, but that you should feel special to call her your friend; because like me, she chooses her friends wisely.
I’m thankful I was able to soften the shell and have a friend like her in my life to spend this day with!
Fun Fact : One of the very first nights Teddy and I went out was the night before Jamie’s wedding . It was a pretty eventful evening that ended in us sleeping in Teddy’s truck, out front of Johnny’s. Of course it was a short sleep for Teddy, because I forgot to mention - he was in the wedding!
Now Jamie gets to walk down the aisle with Kyle a second time - or should I say Kyle gets to walk down the aisle with her again!
Our relationship began as strictly a work one, she’s the young blood of the group, so at first the age difference seemed to be the only objective. In the beginning - Jessica was a quick learner and always so helpful! She always asked me what she could do for me since she had no work to do. So me teaching her things in my office - led to more conversation and us realizing how much we had in common!! (Despite the age gap)
Soon I was working with her more closely because she got the opportunity to apply for an Assistant Manager position. Though she didn’t get the opportunity to leave us - I’m selfishly thankful to still have her under my wing as my little assistant, and more importantly - my friend!
We had already built a friendship at this point, and thennnnnn - covid hit. We were quarantined together in the office as Team B when we had implemented our rotating schedule in the beginning. This is what turned our work relationship into a real friendship, and brought us close enough to ask her to be a part of my special day!
Meg is both a girls girl and a guys girl, which is hard to come by these days! She’s hand down someone you could count on for almost anything - and I’m sure anyone reading this would agree!
Seth has been my longest friend of about 25 years. I remember being in mrs. wellmans 2nd grade class together, and we would whisper cuss words into each others ears and thought it was so funny. Seth was my first friend i had ever had sleep over. We had a big fight at school in elementary school one day, and it was kind of like a breakup. I was so upset and crying, but of course we made up! I remember sitting on the couch with my parents and just waiting and watching out of the window for him to show up! We had some great times riding 4 wheelers, playing baseball on the same team our whole lives (and always winning the championship!) partying up in my loft (haha sorry mom) and living together in college. Im glad seth will be standing by my side on my wedding day!
