How we Met
Michael and I met in April 2019. I was immediately taken with his smile and the affectionate way he told me stories about his grandparents. We both knew from the start that this could be something special. I travelled frequently in the beginning of our relationship for work, and always looked forward to our daily chats and weekend adventures in Ann Arbor and Detroit.
The Proposal

Michael planned a day of my favorite Ann Arbor things on the day of our proposal. The day featured pumpkin treats - which are his favorite - and our favorite casual brunch spot - Juicy Kitchen. We even visited my favorite grocery store (Trader Joe's). He proposed at one of our first date spots, Gallup Park. He reminded me of conversations we had had walking the path before. I felt such a connection to him and to Ann Arbor. I also walked 3 miles in bright red high heels and won't let him forget it! The proposal was such a beautiful emotional moment for both us and I felt so lucky to have a moment of sunshine in an otherwise challenging year.

Our Families

We have loved getting to know each other's families. With Nonie's family, we've enjoyed board game nights, pandemic graduations (modified but with much delicious food!), and family dinners. With Michael's family, we love going to the zoo, visits to Battle Creek, and a cook out! We look forward to continuing to get to know the people who've made us who we are.
