How We Met (Her Story)

 (Her Story)

It was late March and I had was ready to celebrate recent events in my life. I went out with a good friend of mine to a reggae spot. I didn't need anyone to have a good time that night...I danced in the corner by myself, back to everyone, drink in my hand, having a grand time! Someone asked me to dance and I did...And that's when I saw this mysterious buffed up guy in a pendleton and some sort of hat pulled down low to his eyes.  He was drinking a beer and rocking to the music.

A little later he asked me to dance...and we did.  I immediately felt comfortable with him...like our spirits were connected from another life.  I told him "I have to tell you something and don't laugh".  He said "ok. what?"  I was like " my feet hurt, I can't dance anymore".  He was such a gentlemen and he walked me to a nearby bar table to sit.

At that time I didn't know that the first person I danced with was his cousin who had befriended one of my friends.  His cousin pushed, pushed, and pushed for my friend to get my number for Clius.  I was adamant not to give it to him and anyway he sent me these horrid pics of him at work...I told my friend "No way I'm talking to that guy".

Eventually I gave over my number (LOL I found out later that he wasn't even the one asking for it smh).  The first time we spoke we talked for hours.  It was like talking to an old friend.  He had this amazing energy, he was intelligent, and witty.  We began talking on the phone ALL the time and eventually went to dinner...

How We Met (His Story)

(His Story)

My cousin found a place that they were having a reggae night and told me about, so we went.  We got there, got are drinks, and checked out the vibe of the place and the people there.

After about a half hour my cousin went on the dance floor and started dancing with a friend of Maya.  When I first noticed Maya she was dancing on the floor alone...it looked as tho she was really feeling the music.  Maya danced with some guy and then my cousin.  My cousin told me to dance with her while he danced with her friend.  I asked her to dance but she told me her feet hurt. My cousin asked me why didn't she dance with you and I told him her answer.  Then my cousin pointed out her dancing with someone else.  I told him it was ok if it's meant for me to dance with her or get her number I'll see her again.  Later that night she danced with me but we didn't talk much.

Afterwards my cousin pushed her friend to get Maya's number so we could hook up.  She finally gave my cousin her number for me and I called her.  We talked on the phone about two weeks before we agreed to meet up for dinner...

Our First Date (Her Story)

Her Story

After a few weeks of talking on the phone we agreed to meet up at a local club that had a reggae night.  I was so excited to see him again because I could only remember his vibe but not his face (what he looked like).  I got CUTE CUTE...got there danced around.  Danced with a guy I thought was him...only to find out later it wasn't (the guy lied about his name-creep).  James (Clius) NEVER SHOWED.  Yes!  He stood me up!

Our First Date (His Story)

(His Story)

That wasn't our first date!!!

Our First Date (Our Story)

Our Story

We finally met up for dinner at Z's Cafe in Oakland, CA.  He wore ANOTHER pendleton LOL.  We sat in this dimly lit restaurant at a round table with one candle in the center.  We talked, laughed, and flirted ( the rebel and the  ladyshark) until the restaurant had closed...We were told we had to go they were closing.

After that every time we went out...we closed the place down.  LITERALLY, we'd be dancing and the security guard would have to tell us to leave that the club was closed.  Once they were even sweeping around us while we danced.

DID I MENTION HE WAS TWO HOURS LATE FOR THIS DATE?!!!

The Proposal (Her Story)

What proposal?

The Proposal (His Story)

We were on the phone and I asked her "Do you wanna be my Queen for life?"

What We Love...
Hmmmm...reggae and dancing until they turn the lights on...singing offkey LOL.

We love walking and finding quaint eateries that we can hide out in

We love researching, planning our legacy, and then watching a movie...that Maya usually falls to sleep on
