Neha's Version:
Ever since I was little I’ve had a soft spot for a good Bollywood romance. So it’s no surprise that I grew up praying to find my Raj on a train. When Kesha asked me to emcee her wedding I was so excited. I was even more thrilled when she mentioned my co emcee would be Jeet, a friend of hers I had seen around but didn’t know personally. I couldn’t help but notice he was tall, wore glasses and had a beard…like I had always hoped my Raj would.
But of course, it wouldn’t be a true Bollywood love story without a good plot twist and ours was that we couldn’t stand each other. During our first few encounters I thought he was a know it all and conceited and he thought I was annoying and obnoxious. Not the greatest first impressions.
It took a few meet ups and our common goal of being good emcees for Kesha’s wedding for us to finally understand each other. Over the next few weeks I saw how Jeet actually had a calming presence and poured so much love and effort into his role at his best friends wedding.
One day before the wedding we met at Donut Wheel to finish up some planning and when Jeet made a Bollywood reference I knew what I was feeling was more than just a sugar rush. Over the next three years I truly got to live out my Bollywood dreams and I can't wait to continue writing our story that will include all of our loved ones

Jeet's Version:
Our story began in the summer of 2019, when we were tasked to be emcee’s at a wedding reception. Like every Bollywood movie, our first encounter consisted of donuts and dialogues (writing them of course). At first, we both found each other quite annoying and could barely stand each other. However, days leading up to the event we got to know each other which ignited a new friendship.
Our first date was a few weeks after the wedding! We planned to grab dinner in San Francisco. Like any first date, it was perfectly imperfect. Highway-101 created a barricade between us and our food. Not only did we miss our reservations but we ended up reaching the restaurant past its closing time. This forced us to grab food in the Mission. A few chips and burritos later we knew that our friendship was special.
After countless dates and a pandemic, in the summer of 2021, two years after our first encounter I proposed to Neha at Filoli Gardens. Now, after nearly 3 years together, we can’t wait to tie the knot and start our happily ever after!
