Laetitia and I met in high school, initial memories claim she was charmed by my leopard print pants. Yet whatever the case we have been partners in crime ever since. Laetitia obtained her driving license before I did, so she was always in the drivers seat to a good time. We went everywhere and broke every rule.
At 17 and 18 respectively we traveled to Mykonos for the first time together which has become an annual trip for the past 15 years. After high-school Laetitia pursued business school while I went to law school. It took only 3 months for us to realize we could not be apart and she quickly joined me in pursuing law as a career. She has been living as a lawyer in Mexico city for the past decade.
The close bond formed over the past 18 years has continued. We have traveled the world together and we share many beautiful and funny memories.
Sharane is my youngest sister and we are nine years apart. While the gap in age is great we have always shared a special bond. Being my youngest sister I always took her under my wing and played the role of over-protecting sister. Yet, as the years have gone by her natural charisma and charm have helped me to realize I too was under her wing.
Together we have shared many of lives greatest pursuits, bonding over travel and a love of cooking. Her curious and disciplined attitude have seen her living in many countries outside of France. Yet our bond remains close no matter how far apart we are.
Emma is my paternal cousin. I am the oldest of 4 siblings so growing up Emma being slightly older took the role of an older sister. We have shared many of life's journeys together supporting each-other along the way.
Her energy has always been overly palpable which is one of the qualities I admire the most in her. While we have plenty of funny memories our favorite activity is eating chips and consuming red wine or diet coke together. We can do this for hours. We have remained in constant contact even while sometimes living a world away from one another.
Mo and Jeremy met in Boston over 20 years ago as students. Right after meeting we took a trip to Washington D.C and let's just say we did not immediately hit it off. Something over riding in the front seat of a rental car (that we had rented under fake identification because we were 18 and 19 years old) to drive to a house party in West Virginia.
After that trip we did not see much each-other until one day I saw Mo on Newbury street in Boston carrying a Neiman Marcus shopping bag. Coming from Texas where the department store was founded, I quickly inquired about what he had purchased. They were a bright Red pair of Prada loafers. I then asked Mo how he had paid for the shoes, knowing at the time that Neiman Marcus did not take any form of Visa or Mastercard payment for merchandise. He quickly told me he had paid with his "Arab bank" credit card. We immediately got into an argument because again, at the time they only accepted AMEX or NM house charge. He insisted they had taken him to a special room to process the payment. Let's just say at that point I knew we would become friends for life. Later that evening after an eventful night out, the very shoes that caused the argument were destroyed. We have been friends ever since.
Through the years the stories and good memories have not ceased to constantly put a smile on my face. With or without coincidence, he and Morgane are both Virgos.
Matthew is my older brother by 16 months. Growing up being so close in age has kept us in constant trouble as children and on into adulthood. Early on Matt excelled in academic pursuits which I was not at all interested in. I was busy setting the house on fire and riding my bike on the roof. While he was better at negotiating our allowance, he was always more proficient at spending mine. The tables turned when I was 14 and started a business selling laptop computers. I always made sure to push the hardest customers and situations on him, knowing he would always come through in a pinch. This spirit has carried on though the years. We have more "I'm sorry mom and dad" stories than most children could ever dream of. We destroyed everything. Throughout life's most difficult challenges and adversities, to the joys and excitement of achievements the fact that we have always done it "together" is what matters most.
Jeremy met Matthias quickly after moving to Dubai. Although born in France, he spent many of his formative years in the Middle East and and after business school in France, he moved to Dubai to start a business of his own. After many nights out under their belts as single men, he met the love of his life who happens to be Norwegian. Matthias and his wife Toril moved to Oslo right around the time Jeremy was exploring a career with a Norwegian based company. The offices being just a 15 minute walk from their home. Many trips back and forth over the years kept them in constant contact.
Upon their return to Dubai, they even moved into the very tower that Jeremy and Morgane met in. Everything came full circle with many grateful memories along the way.
