Dalefield
The wedding & celebrations are going to be held out at Dalefield; roughly halfway between Queenstown & Arrowtown. Dalefield is about a 10 minute drive out of town nestled under Coronet Peak (the ski mountain) and amongst farmland #sheep.
Queenstown CBD is the heartbeat of the South Island. Staying anywhere in town will give you access via foot to all the main bars, restaurants, shopping and adventure activities.

Arrowtown is a 20 minute drive from Queenstown.
A historic gold mining town with some really nice breakfast joints, bars and restaurants.
Stay here if you're not all about the hustle and bustle tourist life.

Taxis cost about $60 each way.

If you're travelling in a decent size party staying just outside of town may be worth a look. There are more options for accomodating larger group bookings.
If you you choose this option, you might need your own transport for getting around. Uber's are available however limited. Taxi's are easy enough to get from town, but usually about a 30 minute wait if you're outside of town.
