We first met in 2009 while attending California State University, Fullerton. Michelle was in the History program and taking credential classes to become a teacher, while Billy was studying Theater Arts with an emphasis on education. One afternoon, while in between classes, they were both invited by a mutual friend to meet for lunch at the campus Round Table Pizza. This was a very quick meet up, so there wasn't a lot of time for them to talk. After that initial meeting they would attend the same group events, but continued to remain acquaintances. In 2011 they both attended a birthday party at Dave & Busters, and it was at this event they first truly noticed one another. She was dressed "ready for the club" in heels and a bright green dress and he was fresh from a convention earlier that day, and was sporting a bright green fauxhawk.
Later that year Michelle moved to San Francisco for Graduate School while Billy continued living in Orange County and graduated from CSUF in 2010. By 2014 Michelle graduated from San Jose State with her Masters Degree and returned home to La Palma.
The following year we participated in our friend's wedding. During the planning of the wedding we really began to get to know each other, became friends, and eventually a couple. We officially started dating on February 22, 2015.
On July 1, 2018, after dating for nearly 4 years, Billy planned an afternoon trip to the Huntington Library. After a full day of hiking the various botanical gardens we found a bench in a bamboo forest, one of the entry points to the Japanese Garden. From there Billy got down on one knee and told Michelle how happy he truly was and proposed to her. The bamboo forest was the perfect location for us to share our special moment.
