It was the start of covid in early February, when everything was pretty much shut down, and almost everybody was in quarantine except for emergency personnel, hospitals, and essential businesses.
During that time, our water softener system failed, and therefore, the hard water and iron took over everything and were causing havoc to our water pipes. I began calling water softener companies. The first company I called and interviewed was High Plains Water Solutions. After that, I called and interviewed four-five other companies. A month later, I decided to hire the first company. When Joe came, he brought his helper Mike (whom, by the way, when I laid my eyes on him, I thought he was very handsome). While they were working, I would check on them and see if they needed anything. After the third time I checked on them, I decided to stick around and learn how it all worked. Before I knew it, Joe, Mike's boss, started telling me all about Mike, how wonderful of a person he was, and that he was single. In my mind, I was thinking there's no way a handsome guy like Mike is what Joe said who he was. Any handsome guys I encountered were egoistic and shallow. As time went on that day, I started to notice how polite, kind, patient, and respectful Mike was. I also noticed what an extremely hard worker he was, smart, and talented.
After several hours, they completed the job. I then gave them a tour. When we returned, I asked Mike's number. We started texting back in forth and then the phone calls started. A week later, I initiated our first date. Then, a week later, Mike asked me to be his girlfriend. From then on, we built our relationship significantly. Two and a half years later, Mike asked me to marry him From the beginning, Haystack has been a very significant and special place in our hearts. We met here, had our first date here, asked me to be his girlfriend at his parents, got engaged here, and will be getting married here, where it all began!
