Belfast International Airport is approximately 2 hours 30 minutes drive to Markree Castle.
Flights are also available to Dublin airport internationally and this is an approximately 2 hours 20 minutes drive to Markree Castle.
There are some limited flight routes available to Knock airport from Edinburgh on Fridays and Sundays only.
You can get ferries to Belfast (Stenaline) or Larne (P&O) from Cairnryan. Markree Castle is a 2 hour 30 minute drive from Belfast
There is a direct train link between Dublin Connolly station and Collooney train station which takes 3 hours.
We will be running a shuttle bus (Furey's Coaches) from Sligo to Markree Castle, leaving from Markievicz Street (opposite the Glasshouse Hotel) at 13:45 on Saturday afternoon. The bus will also pick-up at the Sligo Park Hotel at approximately 2pm.
Return shuttle bus leaving from Markree back to these hotels at 00:30 and 02:30am
Otherwise, Sligo town is roughly 20 minutes from Markree Castle and there are local taxis available. A list of taxi services will be available on the day and we strongly recommend that you pre-book if using.

Markree Castle
We have a limited number of rooms available at the castle for guests planning to celebrate with us over the full weekend. Prices start from €220 per night, bed and breakfast and must be booked for both nights (16th and 17th March).
Please contact Mhairi or Damien if you are interested in booking a room. We suggest you still make a provisional booking elsewhere (most of the hotels have free cancellation policies) and we'll be in touch nearer the time if we have any vacancies at Markree.
The Glasshouse, Sligo
We have secured 20 rooms at a discounted rate of €370 for 2 nights if booked before 27th November. Reception staff will be able to inform if these are still available upon booking.
Normal prices for room and breakfast start from €220 per night.
