HOW WE MET...
I was working night float for the two weeks of Christmas and New Years and when you're alone in a dark room, you start opening random dating apps. Pavel was also working this holiday period and his hours, like mine, were just not normal.
On December 19, 2018, I downloaded Coffee Meets Bagel, a dating app, for the first time. That same night, Pavel messaged me. Our short (ish) chat conversation led to Pavel asking me out to dinner on Christmas. We went to a past favorite Sushi restaurant and I thought he was so sweet and cute, I didn't want the night to end! Meanwhile, Pavel thought I wasn't interested in him the whole night. Imagine his surprise when I asked if we could go to his apartment (less than a 5 minute walk!), have some wine, talk, play games (REAL games people, keep it clean). We had an amazing night, which highly confused Pavel, and he continued to be confused the next few dates.
I liked him, period. I also *may have* told him to save himself and run... in true Megan fashion. Oh man is he stubborn. I'm so thankful for that early stubbornness since I got the ultimate gift in return. I get to spend the rest of my life with a truly wonderful person and an amazing partner. Now, he gets to spend his life with ME. Just kidding! We "get" each other!
A dating app is how it started, Asahi Sushi is where we met, Morristown, NJ is where we lived and got engaged and West Palm Beach, FL is where we say, "I Do!".
I honestly had no clue which face was going to show up!
I think he knew who he was meeting...
