When you meet someone who can grill out, have a great taste in music and laugh at your jokes.. She must be something special. After talking my self up and friends making fun of me I went for it! “ hey... umm.. I like your music... wanna use my speaker so we can all enjoy it?” Man was that a shuddering mess ... after seeing her beautiful smile and jamming to her tunes the day was coming to a close.. I had plans to go kayaking the next day with my friends and All I could think about what that girl Stacey and her smile! So I left a sticky note on her car with my number attached “ hey we are going kayaking tomorrow you should come!” Me giddy all night long .. waiting .. being made fun of by my friends that she would blow me off ... all night .. no text .. next morning no text ... we go kayaking.. it’s meh .. feel like a dope... she blew me off.... later that night I get a text “ hey I would love to go ....” she was a day late and I couldn’t have been happier!!!!

How do I get this amazing beautiful girls attention? I ask her if she likes ice cream.. this was a huge test ... I love ice cream and so does my family. She says yes. Test passed!! Me really excited I grab my gallon of Oreo ice cream and then I get a text “ your not coming in my apartment..” me with out hesitating “ pshhh that’s fine I don’t need to come up bring some spoons and meet me out side!” We sat on the side walk between our buildings looking up at the stars and eating Oreo ice cream... as amazing as star gazing is and Oreo is one of my least favorite ice creams.. sharing the same gallon of ice cream and seeing that smile again I had never had better ice cream in my life. We ate 2 gallons of ice cream over the next week, sitting outside and getting to know my future wife.

After all these stories about her father.. he’s stern and he’s scary and he runs a tight ship. The day comes to when I’m going to meet him. And the entire Mayhew clan. 7 .. 7 new people... meeting at Doc fords on Sanibel. I scoop up my girl and we are Otw!! I’ve pumped my self up for this moment .. meeting the father is a big moment.. we get to the restaurant and we meet the Mayhews first and we head inside. Anton is running late ... I find out later this is not a normal thing.. as Sandi and Anton come in I hug and introduce my self to Sandi and Anton Stacey’s dad walks in behind her. I reach out with confidence to shake his hand and keep eye contact ... he hits me with a fist bump last minute and a small grin ... well played sir ... well played ..

In Roma!!! And Venice Italy!! Traveled half way around the world with my person and the love just continued to grow!! Getting gelato on every corner and getting lost with the Italians is a trip I will never forget.

I’ve met my person. The guy who makes me laugh so hard and smile so big.

Spending our weekends exploring new places, trying new foods and enjoying the sunsets on the beach.

Our first home! We knew it as soon as we snuck in the side door,looked at each other across the living room and said this is it. Called our parents and showed them the place... it was listed higher than we could afford, didn’t stop us from making a low offer. It was under contract... we where not going to have a chance... we gave it a try and by our surprise a few months later it was ours. We found the perfect place to call a home. A perfect place to live and grow!
