Marisa and Michael first met in biology class at Guilderland High School when Marisa was a freshmen and Michael a sophomore. It was not until two years later in Physics class when their friendship truly began. In the last quarter of the year, their teacher lined up the Seniors on one side of the room and Juniors on the other and one by one let the Seniors pick a Junior to sit next to. When it was Michael's turn to pick he said "Who do I want to annoy for the rest of the year.... Marisa!" From there, their relationship grew.

Marisa and Michael started dating in 2012 once Marisa decided on a college. They ended up attending UConn together (Go Huskies!), where they loved attending basketball games, going to campus events, exploring Storrs and the surrounding towns and of course the countless hours studying.

After they both graduated UConn in December 2015, Michael entered GE's financial management program that required him to move every 6 months, while Marisa moved back to Albany to begin her PhD. Let the long distance game begin!

Although distance is never easy, they made the best of it and got to explore numerous cities together that they most likely wouldn't have: Pittsburgh, Stamford, Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Francisco. Michael ultimately ended up in Houston for 2 years.

After 5 years of long distance, it was time to move closer to home. Marisa and Michael took a 4 day road trip-with their cat Santino and drove cross country (exploring even more new cities) to move Michael back to the Northeast. Both he and Marisa were able to obtain jobs in Boston putting an end to the long flights and short weekend visits. However, being a Yankee fan in Red Sox territory may be a whole new adventure.... good luck Mike!

After 9 years, the big question finally came. For Marisa's birthday she had invited a few of her friends to Boston to celebrate. After a spa day with the girls and a delicious lunch, Michael suggested heading about a mile away to Boston Commons to explore the city (or so Marisa thought). As it turns out, this happened to be one of the coldest days of the year- they almost didn't make it to the park. Luckily they did; Michael brought Marisa to a quiet area and popped the question! With tears in her eyes Marisa of course said yes!
They are so excited that their wedding is right around the corner and are looking forward to celebrating with all of you!
