Our Beginning

The relationship started when we both attended The Stand at Impact Life Church. We quickly became friends and the friendship between us grew and grew until we were best friends and inseparable. One night Margo invited Jachin to hang out to which we went to save-on-foods, and picked up some cheesecake and milk. We drove out to spot where we could see all the lights of Red Deer. We sat in Jachin’s truck, eating cheesecake, drinking milk, and talking about everything long into the night. This night was the starting point of our lifelong love for each other.

His Version

My love for Margo sparked when I attended a young adults meeting and I saw this cute girl hiding sheepishly behind her brother. I thought to myself, wow there is something different about this girl! Something that I knew was special. From that moment that I had to get to know her, I knew that I would have to take my time. When I started in the Stand at the church I had a foolproof plan to grow a deep and meaningful friendship with her, a firm foundation. From there my method was to make sure that Margo knew I was there for her whenever she needed me. I knew Margo was the one for me when during one tuesday prayer I was praying over my future and my future wife, I looked up and seen Margo there and He said that she is going to be your wife. And after that my love for Margo grew daily as she became my best friend, the person I knew I could trust with anything and everything. She was an answer to my prayers. There was no doubt that I know she was the one.

Her Version

It started when I was praying and I made a declaration to myself that I would not date until God would send me the right man. Little did I know that my dream man would be there on the first day of the Stand. It first I didn’t know Jake was the one because I didn’t think that my dream man would come so quickly. We became friends and grew closer and closer until we were totes besties! I found myself always wanting to be around him, that I would seek him out at any gathering. I knew Jake was the one for me when during one evening after a particularly terrible, sad, hard day, I was home alone trying to make supper and I couldn’t open a jar of pasta sauce, just at that moment jachin called me, he heard the frustration and upset ness in my voice and asked what was wrong, I told him I couldn’t open a jar but he knew it was something more. He said I’ll be there in bit. When he arrived he saw me sitting on the floor of the kitchen, a can of tuna in my hand and mascara tear tracks running down my cheeks, watching the office. He looked at me with such love in his eyes and he sat down beside me on the floor, took a bite of tuna, and asked what are we watching. It was in that moment that I knew that this man would always be consent and be my rock, a man that could still have all the love in the world for me even at my worst.

The Proposal

It took a whole weekend for the proposal to happen! Each day something came up that threw off the proposal plan. On Friday night Jachin's brother wanted to join in our night, which would have made it a bit awkward for Jachin to propose. On Saturday we had an amazing day but Margo had gotten flustered because she thought that it would have been perfect for Jachin to propose that day and he didn't, not knowing that Jachin had planned to do it later on. Finally on Sunday afternoon we went to play pool at Corner Pocket, afterwards we got some snacks and starbucks and drove out to our favourite spot, Lights, the place that started it all. We watched the sunset and all the lights of red deer come on as we listened to music. Jachin pulled out the ring and took Margo's hand and asked her to marry him. Margo of course said yes and screamed in excitement for the next 10 minutes.
