Allamata is the custom of decorating the bride and groom in their own home. The best man and maid of honor are responsible for dressing the couple, and traditionally, they do this to the accompaniment of a violin and lute, along with specific songs. This process includes shaving the groom, dressing the bride and groom, wearing a belt, “smoking” the bride and groom etc.

There will be finger food available for the guests but don’t fill up as there is a lot of food coming up after the church ceremony.

The cocktail reception is where guests will pass and congratulate the couple, and their parents before the dinner starts. There is finger food available during the cocktail reception but don’t eat a lot as there is dinner starting at 8:30pm
