Transportation
Atlanta is home to the world's busiest airport... and some of the worst rush hour traffic imaginable. Welcome to our city! :)
For those of you that are flying in, you can either rent a car or use rideshare transportation services (ex: Uber, Lyft). For the latter, head to the baggage claim area and follow the rideshare signs.
The trip from the airport to the Avalon area is 35 miles (about 45 minutes) - or a $40 Uber/Lyft.
Please note: Rush hour begins at 3:30pm and can last as late as 7:30pm. Due to the distance between the airport and the Avalon area, we recommend avoiding traveling on the roads during these times if at all possible.
Our Faves
Arguably the best pizza in Atlanta. We recommend the Lasagna pizza - and don't forget to grab a scoop of nutella gelato next door at Caffè Antico.
Tex-Mex at its finest! Enjoy one (or two) of the house margaritas, and find someone to split the Parilla Mixta fajitas with.
Featuring 20 craft beers on tap and flat-screens tuned to sports, this gastropub serves up elevated bar food like pork belly corn dogs, green egg smoked pastrami sandwiches, and gourmet bowls.
The neighborhood donut and ice cream shop with a menu that rotates daily.
Recover from the weekend's festivities with Sunday brunch at this diner-inspired restaurant. The Bloody Mary is supposed to be out of this world!
Area Hot Spots
