Bali holds a special place in our heart. Beautiful people, beautiful views, and amazing food, we knew we had to come back. Now we get to spend the most important day of our lives with a some of the most special people we hold close to our hearts. We are excited to experience the charm that Bali has to offer with you and we hope you love it just as much!
How they met
Lyly and Ashkan met in medical school. And while the rigors of medical school can often drive couples apart, it only drove them closer together. Lyly made Ashkan study. Ashkan forced Lyly to take breaks. They made a complete team and being together made medical school unforgettable.

The Proposal
Ashkan proposed to Lyly under the guise of an ordinary Malibu hike. Unbeknownst to Lyly, Ashkan had planned for Lyly's whole family and his brother to pop out of the trees and bushes as he kneeled down on one knee...

Long Distance Love
Lyly and Ashkan both wanted to be surgeons, which meant having to train in General Surgery residency. This unfortunately makes it difficult to train in the same program. So they spent 5 years apart. He was in South Carolina, and she lived in New Jersey. Long days of grueling surgical training became long years. Ash and Lyly only saw each other once every few months. Joyous hellos at the aiport just meant heartbreaking goodbyes, each time. (pictured: yet another goodbye at the airport). Despite this, they supported each other every step of the way, allowing each other to reach their own professional goals.
BUT!!... (see next story for something less melancholy)
As they continued to pursue their dreams, they both obtained a Plastic Surgery Fellowship.... TOGETHER!!!
Now they get to be together every day, and often get to operate and work together. It just goes to show you...Everything truly does happen for a reason.
