Sonny and I arrived in each other’s life as wholly formed people. With our individual views, values, habits and life goals. I didn’t have expectations of changing him or hoped that love could teach as we progress. I just embraced him the way he was, strange mix of everything. I knew I was attracted to his Austin casualness, geeky product developer brain, that unrelenting calmness in the way he led his life. From our first few conversations he had shown me that he valued being truthful. He was calm, bold and wise in ways that few people I had met before were. I was bowled over by his easy joy. I didn’t sweat about the details and gave our relationship a good shot, the rest is history :)

How did you first meet?
We met at a yoga studio in Austin. Liki was doing her Yoga Teacher Training and Sonny was one of the instructors involved in the Teacher Training. It was serendipity!
How did he propose?
Sonny surprised Liki by proposing at the start of the pandemic (back in April) It was a fine Sunday afternoon 'wine and paint' virtual hangout with our closest friends and one hour into the painting session we all decided to show our piece of art. Our friends had painted each word of the proposal "Boo boo will you marry me? #booboothangs" It was surreal, Liki was not expecting it and was super surprised. She took a little too long to respond to the question ;)
What's your favorite activity together?
We love working out together, we also make a great team in culinary experiments.
What's your favorite memory together?
The day we adopted Cosmo! Our almost one-year old Chiweenie, he is the best there is.
