Some of you may know her as Barbara but she has always been Neesey to me. Neesey is my God Sister (her mother is my God Mother), my soror, my sister, my friend. I have known Neesey my entire life, literally! Alpha Kappa Alpha brought our mothers together in The Hudson Valley and the rest is history. From running the mean streets of Duchess County to college in ATL (Emory/Spelman), to me living 3 streets away from her when we were in graduate school (Go Columbia Lions), to our adult sisterhood which has been so special. I am honored to have by my side in all walks of life.
Lauren AKA Lu Lu to me is my best! Lauren and I met during our first days of Spelman (HH Phi Beta, Penthouse) and she became the introvert to my extrovert, the yin to my yang. Lauren and I are Line Sisters (Mu Pi, Intrinsic Spr 06), and our friendship continued to grow over the years. Lauren is the person I can always call and tell anything with no judgement, she is my travel buddy and the keeper of my secrets. I am blessed to call her my best.

The Best Men are El's 3 adult sons! Jaali is serving our country in the United States Navy, Jelani is utilizing his B.S. degree and working in the science field, and Jibari works in the Atlanta area. The bond El has with his sons is very special as they share many incredible memories inclusive of their infamous road trips when Jaali, Jelani, and Jibari were children.
