Our Once Upon a time

Our story began in Aruba and here is where we tie the knot.  We were introduced at the job site back in December of 2012 by our dear friend Nicole.  Over the next couple weeks we hung out with friends and relatives exploring the island together. Our holiday had came to an end, but we kept a long distance relationship for a year.  After that year we decided it was time to move in together and take the next step in our journey.  As our relationship grew and we enjoyed our island life we both knew there was more to come.  We both knew it was only a matter of time, and after 5 years of trial, we decided to take the big leap and get married!!   So here we are ready to celebrate with family and friends our happily ever after.

The proposal

The Proposal....when would it happen???  Many had guessed and Lee took his time.  Many thought he had the perfect chance when traveling to Paris, but Lee knew it was too cliché.  However on the least expected night, Dec. 31st 2018, he had it all planned and I had no clue.  Gathered among family and a few friends, right as the joy of a new year was over and the festivities calming down just after midnight he felt the ambience was right.  Lee dropped on his knee and proposed.  Of course the answer was YES.  It was official, we were engaged and finally getting married.  It as a wonderful way to start the new year and the next phase of our journey.

Our Civil wedding

Venezuelan tradition is to have two wedding events.  Typically there is a small civil ceremony for the legal side of things and then a number of weeks later a more typical wedding celebration.  Following the tradition we flew to Miami and met up with our some family and a couple friends.  We exchanged vows and committed to each other forever at the Miami Beach courthouse in South Beach.  It was a wonderful emotional event and we loved the intimate feel of it being just us.  BUT we had to share the fun and excitement and love for each other with ALL our family and friends together for a great party.  What better way we thought than a beach party, we look forward to seeing you all in the sand!
