Getting to Altea

By Plane

The airport in Alicante, Altet Airport (ALC), is the nearest to Altea. This airport services the region of Alicante and the Costa Blanca including Benidorm and of course Altea !

This is a fairly busy international airport that services most European capitals as well as some North American ones. You can usually get there from Canada via one stop in London or Madrid. 

From here to Altea you have several options, rental car / taxi should be about a 45 minute drive, there are shuttle buses as well that take around an hour and a half.

By Train

If you are traveling by train, you can reach Alicante from any major Spanish capital via the national rail line operated by RENFE. Altea is 2 hours from Alicante via the regional tram lines which have beautiful views of the Mediterranean.

By Car

If you are arriving from another region in Spain, you may be looking to rent a car to get to Altea. Spanish roads are in great condition and are not too stressful to drive. You can travel to Altea via National road N332 or highway AP-7. As of January 1st 2020, the AP-7 is now free (previously was toll road).

By Bus

Altea is easily reached by bus from anywhere in Spain via Alicante and Benidorm. This is a cheap and stress free option for those visiting other places in Spain. ALSA is the go to bus company for those interested.
