We met in late 2019 when Laura gave Hugh a lift from Sydney to the Kangaroo Valley for a mutual friend's wedding. Hugh had travelled from the UK and Laura was asked to pick him up :)
Over the 2020 Christmas break Laura visited Hugh in Scotland where he was living at the time. We hiked in the Scottish Highlands..
..drank bloody marys in Edinburgh..
..and managed to sneak in a ski trip in France.
The pandemic kicked off and Hugh high tailed it across the globe to join Laura in Hobart.
While borders were closed to the rest of the world, we took advantage of exploring Tassie without all the tourists. We hiked up Kunanyi..
..walked the shores of the Bay of Fires..
..and tackled The Overland Track (often in the rain, making Hugh feel very at home).
We bought an electric car which we love..
..and a house, which needs a lot of love!
In March 2022, Hugh took Laura to Flinders Island..
..where he made her walk up a very big hill and then proposed to her under the trig point..
..thankfully she said "yes"..
..before they ran into, and then circumvented, what Laura tells Hugh is a very poisonous snake.
Once borders reopened, Laura took Hugh to Queensland for a roadtrip, where the wildlife continued to be a constant source of concern..
..and now, on to the next adventure which we hope you will join us for!
