For those of you that are travelling from the mainland to Oahu, you are required to submit a negative test result to the Safe Travels Hawaii website prior to your departure. If you do not do this, you will be placed in a state-mandated quarantine and will not be able to attend the wedding.
REMINDER: testing is required by the state of Hawaii regardless if you have received the vaccination or not.
Here are the steps and our tips and tricks on how to do this.

You must be tested within 72 hours of the last leg of your flight. This is very important. If your flight leaves at 6:00pm to Hawaii, and you tested 3 days prior at 11am, your test is invalid.
Please pay attention to the departure time of the LAST LEG of your flight.
It does not have to be scheduled exactly at the 72 hour mark. It just has to be anytime within the 72 hours window.
YOUR RESULTS MUST BE UPLOADED TO THE SAFE TRAVELS HAWAII WEBSITE PRIOR TO YOUR DEPARTURE. The state of Hawaii will not accept results to be uploaded once your plane has taken off.
DO NOT WAIT to schedule your test. Appointments fill up quickly.
Some testing sites only release the schedule of available appointments 4 days out.
Example: Walgreens will release Friday’s testing appointments on Monday morning.
Plan to book your COVID test at least 7 days before your departure time.

These results are not guaranteed to come back in time for your flight. The turnaround time for results is 3-7 days.
We have personally experienced results arriving in as little as one day and as much as 5 days.
Walgreens rapid test (FREE)

CVS PCR test ($139)
The rapid test is NOT an approved test. It must be the PCR test at CVS.
UMC Quick Care ($130)

These results are guaranteed within 36 hours
The public testing sites run by UMC (Cashman Center, UNLV Stan Fulton Building, Texas Station, etc.) are NOT accepted by the state of Hawaii for travel
Main Street Hotel ($90)
Schedule an appointment on the Worksite Labs website
These results are guaranteed within 24-36 hours

Once you have your test results, download the PDF file to your phone. This will be uploaded to the Safe Travels website. Only a PDF file is accepted (no screenshots).
The results that come from Walgreens have 2 different versions of the test results. We usually save both forms.
We always print our results to have a hard copy just in case.

Create an account on the Safe Travels website
Click on Trips and add your trip details
Have the following information handy: your flight itinerary (for the last leg of your trip), ID number (driver’s license, passport, etc.), and address of where you are staying.
Complete the Health Questionnaire
This will generate a QR code that will be sent to your email address.
DO NOT LOSE THIS. I usually save the QR code image to the photos on my phone to have it handy.
Click on Documents
This is where you will upload your COVID test results.
Make sure you upload your results BEFORE your flight takes off.
