Please Log in...in Chicago
The Chi-berian frostbite is generally to be avoided, but we're going to turn convention on its head and make this a "destination" wedding for all our friends and family...even you Chicago Suburbanites!
We hope you'll consider joining us in the city (sans kids) and stay with us at our "wedding guest" hotel. We would love to have you all close by as the wedding day approaches. Our desire is to create a special experience over the entire wedding weekend, and we believe if we're all in one place it makes it that much easier to make that reality. We will even have our own private "lounge" on the 32nd floor of the hotel for families and friends to hang out, eat, drink, etc during the down time.
Click through the schedule on the left to see what's on the docket.
Private Lounge Just for You
There is an official "#ForBetterOrGersh" lounge that will be available all weekend for everyone to hang out, meet up, eat, drink...whatever you want on the 32nd floor of the Executive Tower. We hope you use this space to hangout with friends and family that you maybe haven't seen for awhile, or a place to order-in some food if you don't feel like going out.
Fri-Yay!
Thanks for making this a Chicago "destination" wedding to remember--and a special 'thank you' to those who have travelled from afar!
For those who have decided to make it a full Chicago weekend with us at the Intercontinental, we would love it if you would join us for a Welcome Reception. We're going to put both Goerschler and Metsig guests side by side and see who makes a new best friend by night's end.
A cord of three strands is not easily broken
Ecclesiastes 4:12 gives us an amazing image of God weaving Himself into humanity. It says that two are strong, but three is better. And ultimately, we want the story of our marriage to reflect God's character woven in and through it.
Your presence matters
We believe our ceremony is more important than our reception. We are longing for a marriage that seeks after God's kingdom, serves others, and loves deeply. The ceremony is where we will make our covenant promises to each other, and we would feel honored to have you join us as we commit ourselves fully to God and one another in marriage. Plus, there will be confetti involved.
No Kids, Please
We're excited to create an experience that allows for a night out and weekend away for all of our guests. Couples with kids, that means that this is your time to enjoy yourselves as a couple in a kid-free space. So please, no children at any of the weekend's event. We know that we have many breast-feeding moms coming, so we will have a private room setup at the ceremony/reception for pumping.
Black Tie Optional
We are looking forward to celebrating with you in our fanciest threads. Please join us in making this a glam night to remember. We'd love to see you in long gowns and tuxedos or dark suits.
(Ladies- renttherunway.com has beautiful gowns for rent and they are having a 25% off sale right now. Check it out!)
Parking lot on site, Uber might be better
Plenty of parking will be available on the north end of the building. Even so, Uber/Lyft/Taxi might be your best option for those not wanting to deal with maneuvering the car all night.

The Weather is a Fickle Beast
Sometimes January in Chicago can be snowy, icy, and trafficky (we're just gonna say that that's a word). Please allow for extra travel time. And consider Uber/Lyft/Taxi as a hassle-free option.
Immediately following the ceremony, please join us for cocktails and appetizers. The cocktail reception will be at Bridgeport Art Center, just a few feet away from the ceremony. You'll want to keep an eye out for the Chicken & Waffles appetizer and some other fun surprises...

#Brunching #ForBetterOrGersh
For weekender guests staying in the hotel, please join us for a tasty brunch on us following the wedding at Center Court (in our hotel).
You can brunch at your own leisure--no need to wake up early on your weekend vacay. We may or may not be joining you depending on how late you keep us up the night before.
