Below is the itinerary for the trip we are taking following the wedding – Our “Buddymoon”. We want to share our plans with you so that you can join us to see and experience all Sri Lanka has to offer.
The below itinerary is set to cost approximately £675 (GBP) per person. This includes accommodation, transport and some meals (hotels have been provisionally booked on a half board basis).

Day 1 - 5th January 2024 - Depart Taj Bentota and travel to Galle (1 hr drive) for a beach stay. We plan on using these two days to rest and relax after the wedding.
Accommodation: In Radisson Blue Resort or similar.
Day 2 - 6th January 2024 – Enjoy and explore Galle while we continue our beach stay!
Accommodation: In Radisson Blue Resort or similar.
Day 3 - 7th January 2024 - Depart Galle and travel to Udawalawa (2 hr 15 min drive).
Accommodation: In Udawalawa at Athgira River Camping or similar.
Day 4 - 8th January 2024 - Full day safari Udawalawa National Park.
Accommodation: In Udawalawa at Athgira River Camping or similar.
Day 5 - 9 January 2024- Depart the hotel early and travel to Nuwara Eliya (4hr 30min drive) to explore a Tea Plantation.
Accommodation: In Nuwara Eliya at The Farm Resorts or similar.
Day 6 - 10 January 2024 - Depart Nuwara Eliya in the morning and travel to Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage to see the baby elephants (3 hr). After lunch we will drive to Polonnaruwa (3 hour drive).
Accommodation: In Polonnaruwa at Pharo Lake or similar.
Day 7 - 11 January 2024 - Explore Polonnaruwa a famous heritage site (tickets at £15/$30 PP).
Accommodation: In Polonnaruwa at Pharo Lake or similar.
Day 8 - 12 January 2024 - Depart Polonnaruwa and travel to Sigirya (1 hour drive). After a lunch in Sigirya we will head to Dambulla Cave (30min drive) to explore this heritage site.
Accommodation: In Sigiriya at Atha Resort or similar.
Day 9 - 13 January 2024 - Explore Sigiriya an ancient rock fortress which is a site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of rock approximately 180 metres (tickets at £30/$60 PP).

Day 10 - 14 January 2024 - Depart to Colombo (3 hr drive).
