Niroshi Singh
Sister and Maid Of Honour

Niroshi is Kushani’s older sister and has had the privilege of having known her, her whole life. Her elder sister bias means she believes that Kushani has made her life amazing.

“I’m truly blessed that I got to grow up with her” was what she said when asked to provide a bio.

Niroshi is not only excited to be part of Michal and Kushani’s big day she’s over the moon that her baby sister found someone like Michal who couldn’t be more perfect for Kushani and the family. “I couldn’t have asked for a more loving brother-in-law” is another direct quote.

Niroshi and Lucky are also new parents and will be bringing baby Jovahn along.

Samantha Commins
Bridesmaid
Samantha and Kushani first met on the mat at West Park School when they were just six years old and have been more or less inseparable from that moment on. They share many fond memories from their childhood all the way through to adulthood like nights out (some of these memories being less fond), travelling together, sleep overs and so much more.

Although they now live in separate countries and are unable to live out their dreams of living in the same house growing old together and eating their body weights worth of Asian food until the die, Samantha is very happy with the person Kushani has picked to take her place.
Lucy Clifford
Bridesmaid
Lucy first heard Shani’s Kiwi accent in the hallowed halls of DLA Piper London, decided then and there that they would be friends, and immediately barged in to Shani’s office to seal the deal (affording Shani no say in the matter). Lucy and Shani have been long term housemates, best buddies, potential podcast hosts (in Shani’s view) and Princess Margarets (in Lucy’s).

Lucy had the joy (and sometimes the curse) of watching Michal’s and Kushani love story unfold and has been honorarily adopted as their child. Salt, never one to back away from a celebration, cannot wait for pepper’s special day!
Olivia Loxley
Bridesmaid
Olivia and Shani became friends in 2018, mostly because Lucy told them to. Their friendship of convenience blossomed into the real deal as they realised how much they had in common - always ordering the same thing on menus; their mutual love of wings, ribs and drama and both being a little bit scared of Lucy.

Since then, they have shared a lot of laughs, wine, holidays, Hamilton singalongs, bike chat, and stupid in-jokes, but never chicken wings (because the secret to friendship is to order a whole serve each). Olivia is so excited to now share all these things with both Shani and Michal, especially in Sri Lanka in January at the wedding of the century!
Henrik Pihlveus
Best Man
Michal’s and Henrik’s friendship date back to the very first days of university, where, on a rainy evening in Sheffield, on the second day of freshers week, they had their first bonding moment over a bottle of room temperature Lamivno and cider. Suffice to say, things could only improve beyond this point.

Their friendship has now evolved beyond freshers pre-drinks and Pokemon drinking games into a more sophisticated quality. Now, they enjoy sharing the finer things in life, be it literature, theatre, music, or even a fine aged whiskey. Demonstrating that this friendship has managed to transform two young men into middle-aged Pokemon champions within a short span of 11 years.

Fortunately for Michal, and consequently Henrik, a new spark of energy has come into their lives – enter Shani. A tale destined for tragedy has quickly become an epic romance. Henrik never had any doubt that Michal would find his perfect match, despite his Lamvino infused past. And with the wedding fast approaching, Henrik cannot wait to celebrate Michal and Shani’s greatest chapter yet.

Liam Butler
Groomsman

Michal, not Michael, mee-how. How many times I've heard that!
I met Michal through a friend, apparently all he did was sit in his room and play games at uni, but how wrong that was.
He loves a night out, visiting the world, going anywhere and everywhere new.
Through living with him at uni, he found his passion for cooking, he mastered the gravy stirring technique that has made him world famous.
One of the saddest days of my life was when we moved out and away from each other, one in London, one in Leeds. But nothing can keep us separate for long, and I'm pleased he found someone as amazing as Shani to look after him whilst we figure out the long distance relationship.

Jake Short
Groomsman
Michal and Jake first became friends at school, although, a brotherly bond formed over years of singing cheesy songs together, adventures and many a boozy session!

A friendship that has allowed Michal to become an honorary part of the Short family. Even stepping in as Jake’s replacement on Christmas day, whilst he was travelling.

Jake is nothing if not proud of the man Michal has become and both Michal and Shani are very lucky to have each other, a perfect match in his eyes!
