Restrictions on Weddings in Ireland

Ireland's restrictions on wedding celebrations and large gatherings are constantly changing. While we are very hopeful that our wedding will be allowed to proceed as planned, we strongly recommend booking travel that is refundable and/or changeable.

Travel from the United States to Ireland

As of March 2022, Americans are permitted to travel to Ireland with no testing and/or vaccination requirements.

Flights

SNN

Dromoland, the main wedding venue, is located only 15 minutes from Shannon Airport. There are typically direct flights from Newark and JFK into Shannon.

DUB

Dublin International Airport is roughly a 2.5-hour drive from the venue.  Flights tend to be less expensive into/out of Dublin, and there is typically more availability for flights heading elsewhere in Europe if you plan to extend your trip.

Car Rentals

If you plan to be in Ireland longer than the wedding weekend, we recommend that you rent a car for your stay.  Car rentals are readily available at the Shannon and Dublin airports.  Keep in mind that many rental cars have manual transmission, so be sure to reserve an automatic car if you cannot drive manually.  Also remember that you will be driving on the left side of the road!

If you are staying only for the wedding weekend, taxis are available if you plan to explore the immediate area. Taxis are also available to and from the airport.
