Two high school sweethearts fall in love, go off to college, take a seven year break, bump into each other in their hometown, agree to get dinner and are now planning their Costa Rican wedding.
This isn’t a made-for-TV Hallmark movie…This is the story of Rivkah and Korey! Despite their differences in grade level and extra-curricular activities (one being a studious honors student, and the other an all-star hockey player), Rivkah caught Korey’s eye way back in 2003. After he finally worked up the courage to chat her up over AOL Instant Messenger, they realized they shared a love for video games and proceeded to get to know each other the old-fashioned way: through intense Mario Kart races and Zelda expeditions. Their admiration for each other grew and blossomed, even after graduating Hall High School, when Korey went off to Mercyhurst College in Pennsylvania, and Rivkah stayed local at the University of Connecticut.
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Those four years of higher education were not without their struggles, and Rivkah and Korey decided it would be the best course of action to go their separate ways. Life went on, as it does. Rivkah continued her education, and is forever going to be on the UConn alumni donation list, and began her frequent travels to Costa Rica, where she fell in love again… with the country. In the meantime, Korey packed up his skates, unpacked his motorcycles and ended up in the city of sin, Las Vegas. Seven years went by with barely any communication.
And then....this is where the story gets really good.
On a chilly December night, Rivkah and Korey found themselves back in their hometown of West Hartford, Connecticut and both craving a nightcap. Fate would have it that although their drink of choice is not the same, their bar of choice was.
You could say the rest is history, or you could say they spent the next four years building the foundations of a life together. It was a long time coming, but on July 19, 2019, Korey popped the question to Rivkah. In saying yes, she got a ring, a fiance and a brand new food truck (which Korey renovated himself for the occasion).
Michael Scott said it best: there is no greater feeling than when two people who are perfect for each other overcome all obstacles and find true love. (The Office: Season 6 | Episode 16).
With that, Rivkah and Korey are so excited to see you in their special place, Costa Rica, for what will be a joyous celebration with their favorite people.
