Nice to Meet You
Chad and Kelsey met on June 20, 2012. Kelsey had given up on dating and was excited to spend her summer single. Kelsey's best friend, Sarah, was convinced that Chad and Kelsey would make an excellent couple and was persistent that they meet.
Chad had recently moved to Horseshoe Lake in Loveland. Kelsey was on her way to Country Jam on June 21. Sarah called Kelsey on June 20 and insisted that Kelsey go with her to Chad's house to go boating. Kelsey was insistent that she didn't want to go and told Sarah, "I just got a spray tan and I can't go." Kelsey, thinking she'd gotten away, drove home to find Sarah parked outside her house. Sarah, almost literally, drug Kelsey to the lake with her.
Kelsey and Sarah arrived at Chad's house to meet him. As they waited on the patio with a beautiful view of the lake, a handsome, muscular, man came trotting up.
They spent the afternoon laughing in the sun. Chad even let Kelsey drive the boat. That evening they all went to dinner at their favorite restaurant, Rio of course, and it was one of the best nights of Kelsey's life.
The next day, she went to Country Jam hungover and unpacked. She spent the whole time frying in the sun and dreaming of Chad.
When she returned home she immediately went to Chad's house and they spent the summer falling in love. The rest is history, and most of you know all the stories. We've spent nine years growing together and becoming best friends. We cannot wait for the next chapter of our lives and to celebrate with all of you!!

YES!
The Bustos family started a Christmas tradition in 2016 celebrating together in Estes Park. Kelsey and Chad look forward to this trip every year.
2019 Christmas trip started out like all the others, eating, drinking, lounging, visiting the town and The Stanley.
The whole family was strolling around Estes, ducking into shops and watering holes, enjoying time with each other, and laughing. We all stopped at a local restaurant called the Wagon Wheel. Everyone was playing shuffleboard and Duck Hunter when Ellie asked Kelsey and Chad to go into the photo booth with her. They took some fun photos together. Afterward, the family left to continue the town stroll.
As they were walking, they passed an "old-timey photo booth" and Kelsey had mentioned that she'd always wanted to take photos in one.
Later on, Chad said to Kelsey, "let's go back to the photo booth." Thinking he meant the old-timey one, Kelsey followed along without question.
In reality, Chad took Kelsey to the Wagon Wheel to the photo booth they were in with Ellie. Kelsey thought it was cute he wanted pictures of the two of them. They jumped in and, on the second photo, Chad got down and one knee and asked Kelsey to marry him.
It was the best proposal ever.
