How we met

We met on the app, 'Bumble.'

I swiped right on everyone with dogs. Arthur swiped right on everyone. When we matched, I was a busy third year medical student and didn't respond at first, but Arthur "extended" the match and soon we were talking.

Of course, I also bailed on our first date at the last minute (my girlfriends wanted to hangout) but Arthur persisted, and soon we (plus Maizey + Ronald) got drinks at a dog park/bar in Denver. After hours of talking and a few dates later, we soon were inseparable.

We moved in together shortly before I started residency (while Arthur was in the midst of studying for the Bar) and just recently left our apartment for a home with a doggy door (Ronald approves) where Arthur can walk to work.

How He Asked

I thought I was going for coffee and a walk with my high school friends, but halfway around Wash Park (one of our favorite places), I saw Arthur and Ronald, waiting for me. I started smiling and asked Arthur what he was doing there (to which he replied "I'm not proposing!"). Then, of course, he proposed. After "yes" and hugs with my closest girlfriends, we walked just a few hundred yards over where our families and best friends were waiting to celebrate with us. It was perfect.

Our next steps

Katie will be doing a fellowship in pediatric hematology and oncology at Children’s Hospital Colorado and Arthur will keep working as a lawyer at AwA legal.

Ronald and Maizey will keep running the show as most important creatures in our house, both the babies and the bosses.
