What is the Jago & Sangeet?

Jago means “wake up”. It is a pre-wedding ritual held at night before the wedding, when the bride, groom, friends and family dance the night away. The goal is to enjoy the wedding party to the fullest through dance, music and traditional celebration.

What is the Mayian?

A Mayian Ceremony is a traditional ceremony taking place a few days prior to the wedding. This ceremony consists of friends and family rubbing turmeric (haldi) paste on the bride and groom. The paste is meant to cleanse and purify the skin for the big day!

What is the Anand Karaj?

The Anand Karaj represents the religious aspect of a Sikh wedding. The couple walk slowly around the Guru Granth Sahib in clockwise direction known as the ‘laavan’. There are a total of four lavaan, which signify various stages of marital love.

Please note, prior to the Anand Karaj, there will be the Baraat  & Milni ceremony. The Baraat is the Groom's procession where friends and family come together and travel to the wedding venue in a traditional manner.
