Sarah Peterson
Maid of Honor

Hi I’m Sarah, Katie’s twin sister and co maid of honor. I met Katie before I was born which means we’ve had a very long time to get to know each other. Some things Katie loves: giving the perfect gift, Indian food, painting, eating homemade macaroni and cheese very late at night, documentaries, Pepper, and Nick Andary. Some things I love: music, documentaries, sushi, reading, making homemade macaroni and cheese very late at night, and Nick Andary. Katie and I always knew when one of us got married the person they chose would need the twin stamp of approval. I am so thankful she found someone who made giving that stamp so easy. I love Nick and Katie both separately but even more together and I am so excited to help them celebrate.

Courtney Peterson
Maid of Honor

Hello everyone!! My name is Courtney Peterson, and I am one of Katie’s younger sisters (the non-twin one). I have known Katie my entire life - while she sadly lived 3 years and 11 months BC (Before Courtney). She is one of the most thoughtful, creative, and funniest people I know and I am shocked everyday I somehow get to be related to her. One of my favorite things about Katie is how she makes you feel like the most important person in the world when you’re talking to her. I didn’t realize there could be another person who could match her in not only this quality, but also in her quick wit, creative hobbies, and endless laughter until I met Nick. He lived much longer than Katie did in BC, but somehow managed to become a hilarious, bold, and generous person without me. He makes Katie laugh everyday and it has been a joy to watch them grow together (and to eat all of Nick’s incredible cooking). I am so excited that from here on out, I somehow get to be related to the both of them.

Abby Twilling
Bridesmaid

Hi! I’m Abby! I first met Katie nearly NINE years ago when we attended Calvin College together. We became best friends and soon roommates, & we were seriously attached at the hip for 4 whole years. Though we aren’t roommates anymore, and though we don’t live in the same state anymore (RIP), Katie’s still my go-to gal. I remember when I first met Nick, I couldn’t get over how similar they were. They both take a joke way too far (in the best way possible). They both are smart and passionate about things they care about. They both are silly and don’t take life too seriously. They’re truly perfect for each other. I’ve loved seeing their relationship flourish over the last few years, and I’m just so excited to be part of this fun day!

Morgan Stearns
Bridesmaid

Hi!! it’s Morgan!

I met Katie when I was 15, and I loved following around my older sister and her college friends. Katie had since played many roles in my life — friend, sister, roommate, therapist (I’m dramatic), father (I send her Father’s Day cards because she knows how to mow a lawn and can install air conditioning units with ease which is above my skill level). Needless to say, Katie has been a very important person in my life for years now, and she means the world to me! I always say that Katie is the kind of person who feels like home. (Have I told you that Katie? Well, you feel like home). I am beyond thrilled to celebrate that Katie found someone who finds home in her too.

Emily Jacobs
Bridesmaid

My name is Emily, and I met Katie back in college. She offered to give me a back rub, which was weird in hindsight, but how could I not be friends with her after she got out all my knots? Since then, we've lived together, acquired dogs, watched too much Jersey Shore, and seen our fiancés gradually start to like each other more than they like us. Nick did not offer me a back rub when he met me, so I was unsure at first, but he's won me over with his fun jokes and unusual Thanksgiving delicacies (ie, turkey necks). Not that I liked the turkey necks, but I appreciate his commitment to tradition. I cannot be more excited to celebrate with Katie and Nick.

Alexa Andary
Bridesmaid

Hi, Alexa here! By the time the wedding comes around, I'll have my Masters in Athletic Training from EMU (and will be in dire need of a job). If you see me on the dance floor and we lock eyes, just know you have 5 seconds to disengage before a dance battle breaks out. Nick and I have been homies ever since his oversized eyes spotted my blinding red peach fuzz in the hospital. After he got over his "being friends with my sister is lame" phase in middle school, I must have missed him so much I followed him to GV, but clearly he missed me too when he offered to get me a job at the restaurant he worked at.

"Hi Bombay Cuisine/East West Brewing how can I help you?" The phrase that bonded us all (and now haunts us). As we burnt our fingers on Butter Chicken, a new love was forming... and I was ~completely unaware~. I enjoyed being the unknowing 3rd wheel, now Nick gets to be the 3rd wheel with me and my new sister in law!!

I love doing things with them like drinking craft beer and testing out new board games. Nick and Katie compliment each other in all their opposite personality traits: Nick, an internalized man who says a lot by saying a little and commonly fixating on a variety of obscure hobbies, paired with Katie: a social butterfly with a creative mind and loving in nature. But the one thing they have in common? The aggressive but admirable competitiveness between the two of them. Nothing brings a smile to my face more than seeing Katie hand Nick's ass to him <3. Love you both, can't wait to have a dance off in the middle of a dance circle with my brother and new sister on their big day. xoxo

Christian Zurchauer
Best Man

My name is Christian Zurchauer. I currently teach high school biology in Bath, Michigan. I also have the privilege of coaching the beautiful game of soccer there as well. I grew up in Norton Shores and later attended Grand Valley. This is where I met Nick. Nick and I were in the same fraternity, but where we really bonded was as roommates! We spent many summer nights on the couch watching Game of Thrones and tackling life’s most complicated questions about absolutely nothing. It wasn’t until I left the country that my best bud found the love of his life. I heard of this Katie character, but never had the chance to meet her until a few months into them dating. After meeting Katie, there’s one thing I can tell you. Nick and Katie are made for each other. They highlight each others greatest features and I could never ask for a better woman for my best friend to spend his life with. It’s been a pleasure to be a part of their journey, and I can’t wait to continue to watch them love each other each and every day.

Jeff King
Groomsman

Hey how’s it going? My name is Jeff King & I’m honored to be a groomsman for Nick and Katie’s big day.

The first time I ever met Nick was on the turf fields of Total Soccer Fraser. We were put on the same team, he took one look at my Heely’s and knew right there that he would have a life long friend.
A few years later, our schools merged and we started our journey through academia together.

We also joined a band together. No big deal, You may have heard of us. We were called “The Warren Woods Middle/High school band”. I’m pretty sure we got straight 1’s at MSBOA before. But again, like I said, no big deal. Nick is still to this day the most reliable Oboe player I know.

We also played soccer together in our High school years, befriended a Dane, traveled to Canada, I even joined his Swim team for a day.

Years after knowing each other, we found out that our families have been going to the same part of northern Michigan for family vacations basically our whole conscious lives. That is where I had met Katie for the first time and Nick was so happy to finally introduce her to me and I was happy to finally meet her!

I’m so excited for the both Katie and Nick to tie the knot and keep writing their love story!

See y’all at the wedding!

Zach Yarger
Groomsman

Greetings my fellow wedding goers,
My name is Zach Yarger and I currently hail from the illustrious city of Potterville, Michigan. If the city sounds unfamiliar, that’s because there is nothing there and no real point in visiting. I am currently in what some are calling a serious relationship with long-time sister of the bride, Courtney Peterson, and am attending Central Michigan University pursuing my Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
The first time I heard about Nick was a handful of years ago through the family grapevine where he was described as a Herculean type man with a sense of humor unmatched to anyone the world has ever seen. After meeting Nick, I can confirm that Hercules should actually be jealous of him because he is built like a Greek God, cooks better than Gordon Ramsay, brews fantastic beer (and cider which makes me love him even more), and is indeed the funniest person the world has ever seen. I have known Katie for a long time now too, and it’s very easy to see that she has never been happier than when she is with Nick. They have a way of accentuating the other’s strengths and making each other better people, which is something everybody should have with their loved ones. I am honored to stand on Nick’s side and watch the beginning of what will be a truly wonderful marriage.

Tommy Jacobs
Groomsman
My relationship with Nick started about the same time as his and Katie’s, because our now fiancés were roommates, and I like to think they burn with a similar flame/passion. Nick has opened my eyes to the joys of home brewing, corgi parenting, and turkey necks. Not that I do any of those things, but seeing Nick happy makes me happy. Can’t wait to stand by Nick and Katie’s side when they say “I do”!

Kathy Szenda Wilson
So thankful for Kathy! She is a close friend of the groom's parents, and will be performing our ceremony! Kathy stood by Monika and Chris Andary on their wedding day as a bridesmaid, it only makes sense for her to stand next to us on ours!
