Engagement Story

Kady is someone who likes to know the details of every plan that will somehow impact her life. So planning an engagement that would be a surprise was no easy feat. With all that in mind, I recruited the help of Jenny for the first step of my plan...getting the ring size. Jenny and I came up with a quite elaborate story to trick Kady into thinking they were shopping for someone else. The girls spent the day shopping across NYC, just to get Kady's ring size. At the end of the day, Jenny was able to take her to try on rings and get the ever so vital engagement ring size. Kady had no idea what was happening or the plans that were being made for her future.
Once I had the ring size, I was able to find a jeweler who specializes in sapphires (Kady did not want a diamond). I found the perfect stone and setting, and it was a matter of time until the ring was made. Finally, the day came where I received the ring, and the easy part of the engagement process would ensue..asking Kady to marry me. How difficult could that be? I sat and planned for multiple days on how I would pop the question. I knew it had to be intimate and a scenario where it would just be the both of us. So I planned to do it at her favorite place...her apartment. Thank God I had a key. On the day I asked Kady to marry me I bought 41 roses, 41 candles and printed 41 pictures of moments we've shared together (I don't think I even explained this part to Kady).
Why 41? 41 symbolizes the months, we've shared together up until that day. Once I had my props ready, I decorated Kady's apartment laying out all 41 pictures with the candles leading to her bedroom where the roses were and of course most importantly me with the ring. I hid in her closet to throw her off and popped out to scare her (that's just us). Once we laughed and shared a silly moment together, I got down on one knee and asked her to be my wife, and here we are.

About Stefan

Oh boy! What can I say about Stefan (I think this may be the cheesy beginning to all epistles)? He is kind, loving, caring, generous and sometimes funny (we do not want his head to burst, now). And Loyal! About his loyalty - When we started talking, he offered to drive me to a stranger's house for an unannounced visit to collect money someone owed me. I remember thinking that this was so kind, yet so wild that he was willing to entertain such a mad idea.
In Stefan, I found a partner who accepts me in my entirety, who celebrate my wins and qualities, provides comfort in my losses and checks me when necessary. We have been on this journey for four years now, and I can say that I am truly excited to see what God has in store for us.
Loving him is easy.

About Kady

Amazing, loving, caring, delightful, passionate, faithful are all words that come to mind when I think about Kady. She is my support system at my highest points and my lowest points. From early on in our relationship we built a strong friendship which is what makes our bond so strong now.

I know in her I've found someone who is going to indulge in things that are important to me and also teach me a few things that I never thought I would enjoy. So far we've spent an amazing four years together and I can't wait to see where married life takes us.
