Jenn and Justin first laid eyes on each other in Fall 2015 at Life Time Fitness. There was a very real something at first sight for both of them (and seeing each other being strong and fit and sweaty didn’t hurt). Their subsequent workouts were spent exchanging glances between reps (hoping each other didn’t see) and awkwardly talking in passing. Since Justin did not want to be the guy who hit on Jenn at the gym, they continued this routine for over 6 months!
On May 30, 2016, they FINALLY saw each other outside of the gym at a pool, exchanged numbers, and went on their first date the following week. They’ve been together over 3 years now, they’re still at the same gym, and they can’t wait to start the next phase of their lives together!
Early in their relationship, Jenn told Justin should he ever propose, her only request was she wanted to be totally surprised. Years later, Justin pulled it off flawlessly!...
On January 18, 2019, Jenn and Justin were in Las Vegas for the Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Vegas Golden Knights hockey game. Justin’s two sisters and two of his cousins were there as well.
The night before the game, the group decided to ride the High Roller (a 550-feet-high observatory wheel). Justin insisted they do it at sunset to get the best views of Vegas.
When they reached the top on the 30 minute ride, Justin dropped to one knee and brought out the ring.
Jenn’s first reaction was to start crying, then she grabbed Justin’s hand and said “yes, of course!” Everyone in the pod started yelling and cheering, while Justin’s sisters and cousins shed a few tears themselves.
At the end of the ride, the newly engaged couple called their parents to share the exciting news before the party moved to Battista’s to continue the celebration.
