Here's how it all began.

We met at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. I met Alex during a "Meet The New Sorority Members" social event that took place on the North Field in the center of campus. I met dozens of new members to Greek Life at UNLV but Alex stood out to me like no one else. She struck me with beauty and grace. So much of it, I wouldn't dare to think to bother asking her out. She was, as i would put it, "out of my league". I decided to say to her "It was great meeting you" and continued on my day weak in the knees.

Over the next five years, our friendship developed with such natural growth and trust, it was inevitable that perhaps it could be more. We started dating in 2015 and it's been an amazing journey since then.

Now, we intend to commit to each other for the rest of our lives.

From two different worlds

Alex was born in Las Vegas, Nevada but grew up in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Here's a video we shot during a summer vacation we had up there!

I (J.R.) was born and raised on Saipan, Northern Marianas Islands. I left Saipan to attend UNLV in 2006. In 2018, Alex and I took a trip to see my family and Saipan. Check out these videos we made during our adventures.

The Proposal was executed with the help of Alex's Parents Alan and Kristy, John O'Reily, UNLV, ALV Limos, Angela Doherty, Alex Fitzjerrells, and my friends at Carpenter Sellers Del Gatto Architects.

I proposed to Alex on the 4th floor balcony at the UNLV College of Hospitality building. This beautiful building sits right on UNLV's North Field (where we met in 2010). We were over looking the strip on this balcony and I point out a plaque that was sitting there. The plaque told a story of two people who met on the North Field, became friends, and their relationship evolved into companionship. It never disclosed who it was about until the end of the story. After reading the plaque she turned around and looked at me on one knee with a ring.

I asked her to marry me.

She said "YES!" (With no hesitation I should add).
