HOW WE MET

It’s a fairly simple boy meets girl type story.

Sandy was working at a pub in Elsternwick and josh was a regular, used to go in after work in his hi-vis for a couple of beers and a bet on the horses.

After a couple of small chats across the bar one night after josh had had a few he obviously thought he was king of the world and slapped sandy on the bum, which didn’t go down the best and he was asked to leave the venue. But the following day he walked into the pub and apologised for his behaviour which kept sandy on the hook.

A couple of weeks passed and on another night when josh had had a few he handed to sandy a scratched up betting ticket with his phone number on it. Sandy = not impressed!!

To cut the story short Josh eventually figure it out (how to ask a girl out properly that is) and we went on our first date some time in October 2010 down near St Kilda beach.

Happily Ever After

THE TRAVELS

Until we met Josh had never been overseas and there was only one way to fix that!

About a year into our relationship we found ourselves on a trip of a lifetime to India!

Since then the travels have not stopped and we have made ourselves quite a list and been able to see some amazing things.

You’ll never know if your meant to be with someone till you’ve traveled together!

THE QUESTION

During our trip to the states in June 2018 whilst in New York we had planed a day trip to Buffalo to visit Niagara Falls.

We woke up super early for our airport transfer, headed to JFK and just our luck the flight was delayed. After two hours of sitting in the airport we made it and headed towards the exit for our transfer to the falls. Upon boarding the bus it was at this point that we realised that we had signed up for one of those large tour group tours with a guide that holds up a little red flag, in this case it was his orange hat.

With the plane delay in the morning this put the tour group a little behind so our guide stressed that we were on a very tight schedule and that we may not have time to visit the Canadian side of the falls - the nicer side to which Josh’s ears shot up and immediately said that he would be annoyed if this was the case!

After a 40min drive we arrived at the American side of the falls and made our way to the maid of the mist for our close encounter with the base of the falls. It was amazing, the boat felt like it got so close, we wore ugly blue ponchos but were still getting wet. It was a great experience and if the day ended there it would have been perfect.

Once our boat journey was finished the group headed back to the bus to make our way to lunch, which was at a hotel on the Canadian side. We went through boarder security, got a stamp in our passport and were on our way.

Lunch wasn’t amazing, it was the end of lunch service so we had the drips and drabs of what was left of the buffet and we also only had 30mins to eat cause of our time restraints, but the view from the 13th floor restaurant was beautiful. It looked over all of the falls and gave you a perfect view of them, a picture couldn’t do it justice.

THE WEDDING

The big question answer.... we are getting married in Sedona, Arizona.

Why you ask? Well we don’t really know, it just made the most sense to us.

Have we been there before and just fell in love with it.... no we haven’t.

Are we going there prior to getting married.... no we are not. Going in blind and couldn’t be more excited about it.
