How We Met

We're millennials so I'll give you one guess...

Yup, online. We both lived in Memphis, Tennessee for a short time. Jeremy was working and Jordan was finishing school at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. We met online and texted for about 3 days before deciding to meet on April 8, 2017. Then at this exact spot (right next to Justin Timberlake's house) on the Mississippi River we met in person. We spent the day together at the park. Jeremy rode his skate board while Jordan got sunburn. We talked about our families, friends, and why we were living there at the time. We went to dinner, explored Memphis, or got ice cream everyday after that. We fell in love with the best guacamole in the world. We loved being outside or at the park together. Jeremy gave Jordan a ride to work almost every day so she didn't have to walk that mile hike there and back. We fell in love quickly but knew long distance would be on our radar sooner than we wanted.

Long Distance

" Missing someone gets easier everyday because even though you are one day further from the last time you saw them, you are one day closer to the next time you will.”

Honestly, this is what most of our relationship looked like. We became best friends over the phone and through lots and lots of FaceTime dates. Jeremy flew for the first time ever to meet Jordan's family and friends in August. Jordan returned the favor and experienced Louisiana in September. We were in different time zones with very, very different work schedules. We would plan to "eat breakfast" or "go on dates" together as much as we could. Forever thankful for unlimited phone plans and the day Jeremy decided to get an iPhone.

Wherever you are, I'll be

Sometimes it's funny to retell our story because it has been all over this country at some point. Jordan started to work for a travel therapy company and the rest is history.

Jeremy drove 11 hours to surprise Jordan in North Carolina.

Jordan went to Louisiana for Easter.

We met in Memphis while Jordan was driving across the country.

Jeremy came to visit Jordan twice in California.

We finally moved in together in Charlotte, North Carolina in January 2019. God was telling Jeremy to explore this city and church, so here we are doing just that! We look back and have countless memories in so many cities. Jeremy came a long way from never being on a plane when we met!!

I think I'm gonna marry you

Jordan being Jordan, became antsy. Once upon a time she told Jeremy she wanted to be surprised but that is nearly impossible.

However, Jeremy had asked Jordan's mom and brothers for her hand in marriage long before this. Jordan's mother had shipped the diamond to Jeremy that she had once worn. Jeremy had it re-done perfectly and sized to fit Jordan's tiny hand!

On a random Thursday, Jordan came home from work around midnight (so who knows what the date really is that we got engaged - Feb 28 oooorrr March 1?!? ). Jeremy spun Jordan around telling her to look at the new picture he hung up in the apartment and was on one knee when she finally got to open her eyes. *Jordan secretly smiles every time she walks into the apartment now reliving this sweet memory created with just us two.*

The worst part of this engagement was having to wait from midnight to a reasonable time the next morning to tell everyone we love across this country!! But soon after we drove to Pennsylvania to celebrate with so many loved ones. It was the perfect engagement.
