There are various options, both in Oxford and Abingdon, including hotels, country house retreats, short-let apartments, bed & breakfasts and university rooms available for visitors. The route between the church and the reception venue is a 26 minute drive. Oxford is an extremely popular tourist destination, however, and we recommend that you stay closer to the city centre to enjoy some sightseeing during your stay!

For our international guests there are several main airports, both in London (Heathrow, Luton, City or Gatwick) & Birmingham. 



The most convenient airport to connect to Oxford is Heathrow. There is a bus connection from Terminal 5 to Oxford. You can also take the Elizabeth Line to Paddington Station to connect to the train.

It is also possible to take the ferry (Hoek van Holland - Harwich) to the UK and back again to the Netherlands. There is a train connection from Harwich to London. It is also possible to drive from Harwich to Oxford.

For our local guests, Oxford is a 1.5 hour drive from either central London or Birmingham.

There are also regular trains from London to Oxford station, which is a 15 minute walk from the church.



Our international guests from mainland Europe can also take the Eurostar from Rotterdam to London.

A popular option is the Oxford Tube Megabus, which runs from from Marble Arch in London to High Street in central Oxford. The journey takes between 1-2 hours depending on traffic, tickets can be bought online beforehand or on the bus.

We will provide group transportation to get everyone from the church in Oxford to the reception venue in Abingdon. We will provide the details of local taxi services to anyone who wishes to pre-book a taxi back to their accommodation at the end of the night. Please let us know your preferences and we will ensure there are options to get you back safely.
