Tours

For those who have booked through Trailfinders, they can book your tours for you. They use a company called Hylton Ross. You can book with Hylton Ross directly also and especially for those who have not booked through Trailfinders. hyltonross.co.za/guided-tours/

We have done the below tours with Hylton Ross and recommend the following: (they pick you up and drop you off at your hotel each day)

Or

CAPE POINT– FULL DAY

(We weren't too gone on the botanical gardens so we suggest the half day!)

Table mountain

Table mountain is very accessible from the city. The Red Bus Hop on Hop off tour has a stop at it. Also an Uber from the city is very cheap to Table Mountain. We would suggest doing Table Mountain the first chance you have. It can be covered with cloud unexpectedly at any given moment. Give yourself 90mins to 2 hours to complete it. There is a restaurant up there that does a nice lunch (and wine). You will see it from your hotel and the city and if it is not covered in cloud, go for it!

Township Tour

A township tour is important for cultural reasons and a must see. It is included in the cultural tour above or can be booked separately.

Robben Island

This books out quickly. It is also included in the cultural tour above and can also be booked separately.

Shark Cage Diving

We did this in April 2022 and we are alive to tell the tale (barely). Perfect for thrill seekers. It is a very early morning start. Marine Dynamics come highly recommended. Bring sea sickness tablets!!

Heart Of Cape Town Museum

The drama of the world’s first successful human heart transplant, led by Professor Christiaan Neethling Barnard, played out within the walls of the Charles Saint Theatre at Groote Schuur Hospital on the 3rd December 1967. This museum offers an insightful look into the day the first successful heart transplant took place. We did this tour in 2019, and we loved it! The tour took approx 2 hours and you can take an Uber there and back. It takes approximately 20mins each way from the city centre.
