Missoula has some of the best beers in the West, so what better way to welcome our guests than at a local brewery. Join us for beers and snacks (think wings and nachos) and if we're lucky, some fireworks.

Dress Code

It's the 4th of July, so we know some of you may be wearing your patriotic best anyway :)

White is reserved for the bride, but feel free to don your Independence Day best, or wear something red or blue. To put this in context, Tom will be wearing a red dinner jacket and jeans.

Our ceremony and reception will both be held at the Barn on Mullan, a 15-20 minute drive from the AC and Residence Inn hotels.

Dress Code

The theme of our wedding is a summer garden party, so dress in your brightest bouquet-inspired best. It's Montana, so we guarantee there will be a range of dress, from a button down and jeans to a tuxedo. Jackets preferred not not required for the guys, summer dresses / casual cocktail for the ladies.

The ceremony will be outside and reception will be indoor/outdoor, so we recommend bringing sunglasses and a light jacket for after the sun sets.

Transportation & Parking

We are providing a shuttle to the venue from the Residence Inn and AC Hotels. If you would like to take the shuttle, please be in the lobby of the hotel by 3:30 PM to board the bus. The bus will leave promptly at 3:45 PM.

The shuttle will pick up at the bus parking pull out in front of the Park Place Parking Garage (next to the Market on Front Street), which is kitty corner across Front Street from the Marriotts (see image below).

You can ride the shuttle even if you are not staying at the hotel. There is a public parking garage 1 block away from the hotel if you'd like to drive to the hotel and then hop on the shuttle.

Buses back to the hotel will begin at 9 and run until the reception ends at 11 PM.

If you prefer to drive, there is plenty of parking at the venue, and you're welcome to leave your car overnight and pick it up in the morning if you need to Uber or cab home. Please don't drink and drive!

We planned our wedding intentionally so that folks could explore all that Montana has to offer. Having a Friday wedding means you can take advantage of Saturday + Sunday to adventure on your own, so please don't feel obligated to join our Saturday events. We wanted to plan a couple things to spend more time with folks if you're hanging out, but know that Tom and I will be happy if it's just the two of us :)

We're also asking everyone throw in a few bucks to cover shuttle rental + beverages for the adventure.

Note we have a 60 person maximum, so it's first come, first served!

Sleep in and then treat your hangover with some sun and....more beer?

We'll rendezvous at the Clark Fork Yacht Club (walk across the bridge from the hotels), who will shuttle us and provide tubes for a 2-3 hour float down the Clark Fork river, which will end in downtown Missoula (where we started).

Age Cutoff

Kids under 10 are not allowed to float with the guide we have hired. If you have kids and want to enjoy some water fun, let us know and we can make some more kid-friendly recommendations!

Jess's Mum and Stepfather are hosting a casual taco and margarita bar on Saturday for anyone left in town to round out the weekend!

Just like the river float, this is TOTALLY optional, so feel free to make other plans if you want to explore the city, state, or beyond.

This is a VERY kid-friendly event, so please bring your littles of all sizes. We have a big lawn for them to run around, and will have towels and blankets for picnic-style dinner!

Parking & Transportation

Please consider carpooling or Ubering, as there is limited parking at Jess' parents' house. It's about a 10-minute drive from the AC and Residence Inn hotels in downtown Missoula.

Private events

Missoula's airport code is MSO and is the best option for those flying into town. It's a 20-minute drive from the airport to downtown Missoula.

For those looking to explore Montana before or after the wedding, you may want to look into other area airports for arrival or departure.

The closest airport to Glacier Park is Kalispell (FCA), which is about a 2.5 hour drive from Missoula and 45 minutes from Glacier.

The closest airport to Yellowstone National Park is Bozeman (BZN), which is 1.5 hours from Yellowstone and 4 hours from Missoula.

All major airlines serve Montana airports, but daily flights are limited (typically 2 per airline per airport per day). Some airlines will offer seasonal direct flights to Missoula (United has a direct from SFO, for example), otherwise you can expect to connect via a hub in Minneapolis, Denver, Salt Lake, or Seattle.

Wedding events will begin Thursday evening around 8, but you may want to get into town early to enjoy the 4th of July and what is sure to be a beautiful summer day!

We've organized events to limit the amount of travel for guests. Welcome and day after events will be downtown within walking distance of the hotel, and we'll be providing buses from the hotel to the venue, so rental cars are not required unless you'd like to do your own exploring.

Taxi services are available as well as Uber, but given it is a smaller city and a holiday weekend, we'd encourage you to coordinate with fellow travelers so we don't overwhelm them!

Rental car services are available at the Missoula airport, as well as Turo. Note that the two Marriott hotels charge a $25/day valet parking fee, but the Holiday Inn has free parking so may be the better option if you're getting a car.

Missoula is a blast in the summer time! Some recommendations from the locals:

-Explore the local breweries (we'll have our welcome at Cranky Sam's)

-Check out the Montgomery Distillery for some libations

-Walk the hip strip for shopping and yummy bites

-Hike "the M" to get a 360 view of the former glacial lake

-Take your kids to Splash Montana water park

-See who's playing at the Wilma Theatre or the Kettlehouse Ampitheater

-Book a local guide to go fly fishing

-Drive the hour to Seeley Lake to see where Jess grew up :)

We organized our weekend so that out of town guests could make the most of Montana and explore either before or after the big day. If you're game to get out of the city, here are few places we'd recommend checking out:

-Glacier National Park

-Yellowstone National Park

-Historic Virginia City and Bannack Ghost Town (this is where Jess' grandma grew up)

-The Big Hole and Dillon (the best fly fishing)

-Check out the Bison range and a Pow Wow in the Mission Valley / Flathead Reservation

-Camp around any of the lakes in the Swan Valley or Flathead Lake (it's HUGE)

-Honestly, anywhere you go in Western Montana has beautiful views and hiking, you can't go wrong. If you're looking to do something in particular, just ask!

This is one of the busiest tourism weekends of the year for Montana, so we'd strongly recommend you book your adventures well in advance before they're sold out! This is the definition of a supply and demand problem :)

We've organized our events around downtown Missoula so guests can get around without needing a car. For the ceremony, buses will pick up guests from the Residence Inn and the AC Hotel, so if you choose to stay elsewhere, you'll want to make your way there if you want a ride to the wedding :)

In addition to the two Marriotts, we also have a room block at the Holiday Inn, which may be preferred for those driving, as they offer free parking over the Marriott's $25/day valet.

Jess and Tom will be staying at the Residence Inn on Thursday and Friday night as well!
