For our first date Jeremy and I went to one of my favorite restaurants, Café Tu Tu Tango in Orlando. I was visiting from Texas and remember having the urge to capture the moment. I knew it was the start of something wonderful.

On October 23rd, 2016 Jeremy and I became boyfriend and girlfriend. And so began our long distance love. They say that distance makes the heart grow fonder and boy did it. We would have count downs on our calendars for the next time we got to see each other. And no matter how soon it was, it always felt like he was gone too long.

When I said yes to forever with Jeremy, I also said yes to forever with the boy Hugheses. Collin and Avery. The two sweetest and wildest boys I’ve ever met. I didn’t just want a man, I wanted a family, and oh boy did I ever get it. These two little guys have always made me feel like a princess and I’m blessed to have them in my life.

When asked if he’s a cat person or a dog person, Jeremy will be quick to tell you that he prefers a pet free home. Lol. But like most four legged beasts do, Easter and Halloween quickly made their way into his heart. Today they’re the first ones to greet him at the door when he gets home.

Watching Jeremy be such an amazing dad to his two boys made me fall in love with him even more. And it also made me want to have a baby with him. When we had the conversation he was like “let’s go for it!” This love felt so right and the idea of creating our own little human made perfect sense.

Before we had our baby I remember telling Jeremy how much I would love it if our baby had his own backyard to play in as he grew up. How much I wanted to have a nursery. A mailbox! And so my wonderful man made it happen for us. We bought a house. Homeowners!

Our love created life! Our son was born on March 1st, 2018. Raising Luca with Jeremy continues to be one of our greatest adventures. This little boy is always surprising us and making us laugh. Beyond blessed.

Jeremy and I love this life we share together. Being parents. Being partners. And being so beautifully in love. We continue to embrace the adventure that is us.

And so begins our journey to “I do!” Jeremy created my dream proposal. New Year’s Eve. Surrounded by family and friends. Fireworks. Photographer. And he even made sure I had a manicure so I could show of my gorgeous ring. Is it no wonder I said yes? Love this man.

Wedding planning is such a unique journey. One filled with to-do lists, searching, busyness. But at the core of it all is you and your future spouse’s love. As this will, after all, be a celebration of our story. Jeremy and I will sometimes randomly text each other or say out loud, “we’re getting married!” We are both very much looking forward to our big day and celebrating our happily ever after with our family and friends.

Thanks a lot Coronavirus. Jeremy and I had to make the difficult decision to postpone our wedding. We are realizing that our wedding will look quite different from what we may have imagined. But we are also learning to focus on what’s most important, our love and commitment to each other. Hope we can share with friends and family in as many ways as possible.
