Personal Note from Jenni & Lindsay

We are so very blessed and recognize that our registries may look a bit empty. The truth is we don't need anything and all we want is to be surrounded by family (both blood and chosen) on our wedding day. We feel the love and if you'd like to share the love we'd encourage you to donate to the organizations below which are near and dear to our hearts.

Thanks,

Linz & Jenni

Donations for the Out of Darkness Walk

Jenni lost her mother Brenda to suicide in April of 2015. This devastating loss has led Jenni to want to break the stigmas around mental health and suicide. She has found community and support through the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and the Out of Darkness Walks. Please feel free to donate and/or join the team and walk with us!

AFSP is dedicated to saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide, including those who have experienced a loss. AFSP creates a culture that’s smart about mental health by engaging in the following core strategies: Supporting survivors of suicide loss and those affected by suicide, Advocating for public policies in mental health and suicide prevention, Educating the public about mental health and suicide prevention and Funding scientific research.

Established in 1987, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is a voluntary health organization that gives those affected by suicide a nationwide community empowered by research, education and advocacy to take action against this leading cause of death.

The Community Walks, held in hundreds of cities across the country, are the core of the Out of the Darkness movement, which began in 2004. These events give people the courage to open up about their own connections to the cause, and a platform to create a culture that’s smarter about mental health. Friends, family members, neighbors and coworkers walk side-by-side, supporting each other and in memory of those we’ve lost.

Donations for the Dear Jack Foundation

The Dear Jack Foundations was founded by Jenni's favorite musician Andrew McMahon after his cancer diagnosis in July of 2006, in an effort to initiate change and provide a voice for the generations of young adults who have been diagnosed with cancer. Since then, the Dear Jack Foundation has served hundreds of young adult cancer patients and survivors through programs that provide support and community to a demographic far too often forgotten. The Dear Jack Foundation provides impactful programs benefiting adolescents and young adults (AYA) diagnosed with cancer and their families to improve their quality of life from treatment to survivorship.

Donations for Urban Cat Coalition

We foster via this organization and adopted our cats Lexi, Alex and Callie from them!

Urban Cat Coalition is dedicated to helping create a no kill community by humanely reducing the community cat population in the Milwaukee area through targeted trap-neuter-return (TNR).
They conduct targeted trapping and support community cat caretakers by being a resource to provide guidance with trapping and colony care.
UCC works to educate the community on cat overpopulation and the benefits of TNR.
