How we met...

Jenni and Lindsay were matched via a dating app called "Her". After talking and texting for several weeks we decided to meet. We met at a restaurant called Toast for breakfast. Little did Lindsay know that Jenni is NOT a morning person so getting together for breakfast was a big deal! We enjoyed a meal and ended up doing a little shopping and then ended at Purple Door for some ice cream. This photo was snapped by Lindsay before we said goodbye- and little did we know it would be the first of hundreds of selfies together!

Jenni's Proposal

Jenni wanted to propose first and she wanted it to be special for Lindsay. She waited until she had each of the kids blessings and then began planning. The kids and Jenni planned a few trips to the beach searching for beach glass so that we could plan a day at the beach without Linz suspecting anything. We picked a day in September and headed to the beach.

What Linz didn't know was that many of our dearest friends and family were gathering and setting up a surprise party nearby. Jenni had also hired a photographer who was waiting on the beach. Lucas carried the ring down in his pocket and after a short bit of searching for beach glass Jenni got down on one knee, quickly forgot all of the words she had practiced in her head for weeks but somehow managed to ask Lindsay to be her wife! And luckily Lindsay said "yes!" Afterwards the photographer snapped some photos on the beach before we all headed back up towards the car.  We had a plan and Charlotte claimed we needed to make a quick detour so she could use the bathroom. As we walked closer to the Pavilion we heard voices and knew there was an event- Lindsay was very surprised to find that the pavilion was filled with an engagement party for her! <3 Thanks to everyone who was a part of making that day so special for all of us!

Lindsay's Proposal

The kids and I started our planning to surprise Jenni, but we had to wait until Jenni was able to propose first. Once I had that ring on my finger we were able to pick a date. We started off at Angelic Roots to look for crystals with Hannah and Jay. Jay helped Conor change and cover his shirt while we checked out, and the bigs rode with her to Lake Vista Park so they could change.

With a mom and a bonus mom, things can get confusing so the kids either call me Linz or Llama. Charlee and I would always sing “Single Ladies” which lead to a great lead in for my proposal. I found an acoustic version of “Single Ladies” to play, while the kids held the signs I made. I talked to Jenni while Jay got the kids organized and while she turned to look at the kids, I got down on one knee. Luckily, she said yes!

We let the kids play on the playground while we looked at places for dinner. We were thinking about Olive Garden, but for a party of 7 on a Friday evening it was a long wait. Meanwhile a few of our family members and friends were waiting at Explorium for us to join them. We enjoyed a nice dinner with a DQ ice cream cake for dessert, with the words “She’s My Lobster!” on it. Thank you for those that helped us pull this memorable day off!
