Our Plans

We will be staying in Uluwatu prior to the Wedding. From the 5th of August we will be staying around the Seminyak/Kuta area until the 15th of August.

I will create a Facebook group for those interested and will post what we're doing on certain days if you would like to accompany us.

Flights

Jetstar, Malindo Air and Garuda regularly have sales on for Bali. I would recommend signing up to sale notifications with each of them. Jetstar usually have a return for free sale in October.

Qantas also fly direct.

Skyscanner and Webjet are also good places to search.

Getting Around

Whilst Uber is illegal in Indonesia there are 2 alternatives that offer a similar service.

Grab:

Grab = Uber. Favoured by tourist, good reviews. Beware that some hotels do not allow Grab pick-ups (just walk down the street) and currently there is only a Grab pick up area at the domestic terminal.

Grab App - Apple

Go-Jek:

The biggest and favoured by locals you can order a car (Go-Car) or for the brave jump on the back of a scooter (Go-Ride). They also have a number of other services in app including Go-mart for groceries delivered, Go-Food an uber eats equivalent, and Go-massage.

Alternatively, bluebird Taxis are the most credible as they have a meter. For day trips I would recommend hiring a driver.

Some extra details

1. Bring over your own sunscreen (it's expensive in Bali)

2. Only drink bottled water (brush your teeth with it too)

3. Don’t forget travel insurance

4. Your passport needs at least six months of validity left to travel
